No point in contemplating why it bombed, or whether things would have been different under different circumstances. I couldn't agree with you more.

I wonder how long RCA will wait to release this song to radio

I'm betting the add date will be November 11th, the one year anniversay of "Beautiful". But then again the Video has already premiered on Yahoo so that means the song should go for adds sometime this month. I hope they wait a couple of more weeks because at least by then CHUD will be lower and i don't want TVW to go through recurentities.

Actually, "Dirrty" got enough CHR/Pop airplay to take it to #12 on the pop charts. However, it got hardly any airplay on other formats and wasn't even released as a single (if it was released, it may have performed like "Loverboy" if it was lucky). It just wasn't radio-friendly. I, for one, don't like the song, but we all have our own opinions. No point in contemplating why it bombed, or whether things would have been different under different circumstances. It was released in Canada and I got my copy. In fact, I think its sales were above 'Beautiful' just slightly when both were charting. I'm not sure how many both singles have sold in Canada but I can curious to find out. 'Fighter' too. That was also released a single with a remix of 'Beautiful', which the 'Beautiful' single had the Spanish version of 'Get Mine, Get Yours' and the 'Dirrty' single had 'I Will Be'. I was disappointed there was no single for CHUD.
As for the 'Dirrty' 'Beautiful' thing. It should be a none issue. I personally believe it worked out beautifully! 'Dirrty' made it known that Christina was back with a venenge and it did its job with the video and such, then she went from that to a serious song that was a huge hit and it went from there. I think it worked too well though since 'Dirrty' is all but forgotton. If 'Dirrty' had been a bigger radio hit, my guess is that 'Beautiful' probably wouldn't have been as big as it was. Don't ask why. Just a feeling I have that I'll never know the real answer to.

Since I finally heard the song and saw the video I will predict the peak. My prediction is #21, it will climb up mainly due to many songs going recurrent. But it will reach #21 and will by then have a very small bullet and there will be no more songs able to go recurrent to help boost her up.
Why couldn't she have released "Cruz" or "Soar"? Those would have been top ten hits!

I agree, I only started liking "Cruz" and "Soar" a while ago but even they are stronger singles then TVW. "Impossible" or "Infatuation" would have been perfect.

I just wanted to add that I would also love "Cruz" to be released. It'll be a really great change to hear a Christina Aguilera song on radio that isn't vomit-inducing for a change. It would've been the perfect song in August for all those leaving home to go to boarding school or college. At this moment, even if she does release it eventually, I'd still want to give her a tight slap for putting me through many horrible singles before releasing Cruz.

i am not sure how radio will react to the voice within. but with christina i am always optimistic i will predict top ten not sure how high. i could never see this song going to number one. i really wish that they would've released walk away which imo is the best song i have heard is years. and as for a sixth single i think it would be a smart idea to release something like get mine get yours but my opinion differs from the norm and it might come off as slutty like dirrty did. anyway i look at it like i don't care what other people think about the whole dirrty image. and if they don't like stripped that is their opinion and no one should be put down for voicing an opinion. i think this board would be alot better without all the drama. after all we all love music and that is why we are here right?

I don't understand why people like "Impossible" so much for a single, I think it's very boring, but that's just me. I can see why people like "Infatuation" but of all her songs, I think this one sounds the most like the stuff from her first album. She wants to drive away from that image as much as possible. Also, now I think she should be releasing a slower song after two upbeat ones.

I think The Voice Within is a far superior choice to Impossible, which would only be a mediocre hit. I can see The Voice Within going number 1 AC, and top 20 CHR/Pop. What I don't understand is why Cruz isn't being released? It is by far the best ballad on the album and will do just as well as Beautiful. It was also ignored on her tour. It's catchy, the whole thing blends together so well, and it has another good message, a la her last 3 singles that have done so well. If The Voice Within underperforms, there definitely won't be a 6th single. If there is a sixth single, however, it should be Cruz. Releasing Get Mine Get Yours would be Dirrty all over again. It'd get publicity, but it wouldn't do well on radio because of it's message. Cruz is mature and safe and could be one of the biggest hits of her career.

I agree that Cruz would have made the best single choice of the songs left on the album. It has the potential for similar success as Beautiful, plus its theme would be a perfect way to end the album. She added Cruz to the European tour, by the way, so unfortunately the US is the only place to miss out on it. As for Get Mine, Get Yours, I think its sound is definitely one of the most radio-friendly/single-friendly songs on the album, but the lyrics wouldn't go over well. If it was an earlier single, that would have been ok, but at this point it just wouldn't be a good way to end the album, especially after starting it with Dirrty and everything that caused. Not that I care either what people think or say, but it just wouldn't do Stripped justice to begin and end it like that.

And then after that slap, the 3 million fans that enjoyed the many good singles can come and give you a spanking. I must agree with all of you, any single would've made a better choice than "The Voice Within", "Cruz" is my favorite and that should've been the final single. Even "Walk Away" which i don't want to be a single would still become a hit on radio, i don't understand why RCA chose the very bland "The Voice Within". Someone needs to get fired.

Well, go ahead and ask around whether anyone found your nonsense funny. And then get back to me and try to argue that it qualifies as a joke despite being unfunny.

hmmm...i will, but only if you go around and ask people if your "I'll act like this is not serious and say something bad about an artist even though i really mean it" jokes are tolerable as well.

I wonder what's taking so long with the add date.. could they be waiting for CHUD to wind down even more, or do you think it's possible it might not even go for adds? That wouldn't make much sense though to only put the video out there and not release it to radio. Well, I hope they don't wait too much longer.

I am glad they released the video so early. I honestly think that this song is going to take months and months to build, and it will climb very slowly. I bet it won't even peak until February. After hearing the song a few times and seeing the video, i am chaning my prediction to #10.

I'm thinking RCA is waiting for CHUD to die out the charts. They wouldn't want the older single getting more attention then the new one.

I finally heard this today for the first time. It sounds like a showtune. Definitely not radio-type material, but since it's Christina it might do better than it usually would.
It also sounds like "Reflection"

I listened a few times and it kinda reminds me of a Celine/Mariah type of ballad... at least the verses. I forget how the chorus sounds. It'll more than likely do better than 'Fighter' on my chart.

Well I guess the adds date is still quite far away. But the song doesn't have a single spin on Pop. On the other hand, Cruz gets 1 spin (So does G-Unit and Sheryl Crow's Hole ???). Yay! Go Cruz! I hope Cruz gets more spins than The Voice Within throughout the entire lifespan of The Voice Within.
