I hope she quickly decides to release "Cruz." Even though she already released a video.... realeasing "Cruz" is worth it. "The Voice Within" is by far her worst single choice.
Wasn't she gonna release "Get Mine, Get Yours" instead of "Can't Hold Us Down"?

^ Not what I know of. And I doubt she'll release "Cruz" quickly, if at all. Why would she do that when "The Voice Within" has an add date and a video? ???

Hopefully no more singles after this, i want Christina to wrap up "Stripped", releasing one more single would really be pushing it. Hopefully there is a big gap between TVW and the next single which hopefully is a soundtrack single or a collab or something, i want a 6 month gap between them.

As much as I'd like her to release almost all the songs on Stripped as singles, it's probably just better to put this album to bed, and start focusing on other things, like the new Spanish album (get that out of the way so she can start on the next English one), or a collabo or something.
People don't realize that by releasing more singles off Stripped only delayed the future projects that should be coming sooner, not being stalled due to the over a year old album.

I think Christina wants to show how hard she worked on this album, and it is a good one. She wants to release many singles from it, like they did in the days of Backstreet Boys debut album. I just think she's releasing the wrong single this time around.

It is a good album, and she did work hard, but I don't know about 6 singles
Didn't the Backstreet Boys release 5 singles off that album?

When is the last time 5 singles were released from an album?

I think Backstreet Boys or Shania Twain were the last. I don't think Christina wants to or should release six singles because five is already a lot.

releasing another single around the time of the Grammys won't delay any further projects...she's going to go to them anyway, she'll still be touring then, and its not like she has to promote it by doing anything other than a new video. she can still write and record whilst Stripped is wrapping up.
she should definitely release Walk Away early next year to wrap up the album.

I don't think this song is going to do very well at all, a video running on MTV and still not one spin on radio? Not a very good sign. There was a station however that played "Cruz" maybe they're trying to tell us something.

The add date was only just announced the other day, most probably didn't even know about it being a single, so the lack of early spins doesn't surprise me. I emailed my Pop station just a couple days before the add date was announced, and even then they knew nothing about it, but said they would play it as soon as they heard something, so we'll see. I do know someone who heard it on radio in Las Vegas though.

Yeah not many know it's the new single, that's why it's lacking in spins. We knew a whole month in advance when "Beautiful" "Fighter" and "Can't Hold Us Down" were announcent as singles.

I do know someone who heard it on radio in Las Vegas though. Las Vegas doesn't have CHR-Pop so I wonder what station.

A lot of late singles by artists don't much spins early. This is one of those type of songs that take awhile to pick up on with the public. It did hit the number one on MTV's TRL Countdown. That should help it in the long run with that happening. We will see how this picks up in the long run. A 6th single would be nice but MTV.com's article on the video for "The Voice Within" has announced this as the last single for the album. There will be a lot to look forward to after this album ends.

So is "The Voice Within" going to be the final single from "Stripped"? I've heard some people said yes, and some said no...

Usually when someone states that it's the last single, it will be, whatever the source is. When someone said 'Losing Grip' would be Avril's last, it turned out that it was and I didn't want to believe it. :( Aw well, five is good. I wonder how long we'll wait before another Christina album? Not until late 2005? Late 2004? Mid-2004?

I don't think Christina will release her next English album in 2004. Next year, she's releasing her second Spanish album, and she also plans to star in a movie before her next English album. I think sometime in 2005 is a good chance, perhaps mid year.
And it's good to see "The Voice Within" getting a few spins. :)

I read a VH1 article that claimed it was the last single. But that's not solid proof, obviously.

#117 with 50 spins! The song and Video are off to a great start. Hopefully it can be in the top 100 by sunday night.
CNN reviewed the single yesterday, they gave it 4.5 out of 5 starts!

This song isnt even going to chart. My mom even commented on how bad the song was when we saw the video.

I like this song, it's highly reminscent of I Turn To You in my opinion. But it's a major travesty Cruz will go unnoticed. That song would had worked so well as a closer.
But I think this could hit top 20. Number 12.
