In other serious, sad news, this week Amy Winehouse and her superstar producer Mark Ronson, both of whom are Jewish, were allegedly targeted by Islamic extremists. U.K. newspaper The Sun reported that a post in a forum on Ummah.com called for users to compile "a list of top Jews we can target," and the list included both Amy and Mark's names. British anti-terror expert Glen Jenvey told The Sun that these threats should not be taken lightly: "The Ummah website has been used by extremists. Those listed should treat it very seriously. Expect a hate campaign and intimidation by 20 or 30 thugs." As if Amy Winehouse didn't have enough troubles...

The former nuisance on the island of St. Lucia, Amy Winehouse, became a savior. Usually it’s Amy Winehouse who needs the rescuing, but the singer rescued a woman who had fallen from her boat and smacked her head on the rocks, Perez Hilton is reporting.

The rescued woman, Louise Williams, told the British media “A six-foot wave caught the boat and I went flying and hit a rock. Amy was on the beach 20 meters away and she ran across immediately and said, ‘Let’s have a look at you’. I was bowled over by her kindness. She went out of her way to help me … It shows there’s another side to her.”

Winehouse had just extended her brief vacation to a longer, 2+ month holiday because she enjoyed island life so much.

When questioned about her heroism, Amy simply replied “I thought she was going to drown.”

Our Take: Is anyone else finding it ironic that a former heroin addict is now a heroine? Anyone? Bueller?
