With the current log jam at the top, I tend to think no. I think this will beat the group of contenders from 6-11 to #1, but I think the group of Keith A, Jimmy, and Brad will hold the point for the next 3-5 weeks (4 being my best guess). That would put this #1 at #1 between weeks 8-10. I think the bigger question is whether or not this song will have a long run and keep others like Darius and Kid Rock from getting to #1. I disagree. I see it like this. 8/31: Keith Urban is #1 9/7: Keith Anderson is #1 9/14: Brad Paisley 9/21: Brad Paisley (but, I can see Kenny maybe sliding into first here) 9/28: Kenny I see Kenny blocking out all competition until Carrie comes along. That's how I see this panning out. Uh, so how is that different from what kw wrote? He said the Anderson-Wayne-Paisley group would hold #1 for the next 3-5 weeks, and 4 would be his best guess. And in your calendar, you have the next 4 weeks accounted for by artists other than Kenny. And both of y'alls scenarios have Kenny getting there in week 9. I don't know what "I disagree" is referring to. Unless you're not thinking that "whether or not this song will have a long run and keep others like Darius and Kid Rock from getting to #1" is a big question or not.

I forgot to specify and I misread the post, sorry. Chill out though. I don't think Jimmy will reach the top and I thought he said that he didn't think Keith A, Jimmy, and Brad would hold off the top for much longer. I think Kenny will hold off all competition too.

Such a simple song, probably took 10 minutes to write but I love it!

Such a simple song, probably took 10 minutes to write but I love it! True, but I've heard simpler songs. Who else thinks this is better than Shiftwork? I sure do! Although, it still doesn't compare to some of Kenny's other songs. I wonder how far George's version will creep on the charts. I know "Stars on the Water" made top 40 without being officially released.

I know "Stars on the Water" made top 40 without being officially released. Actually, "Stars" only got to #50. He did have a couple album cuts make Top 40, namely "Murder on Music Row" and "Texas".

Oops. I though "Stars on the Water" made top 40 also. Thanks for letting me know. BTW, I had no idea Murder on Music Row was never officially released.

Judging by the howls of protest which erupted when 'MOMR' was aired on some radio stations, it's extremely unlikely that the politically incorrect hypocrites currently programming country radio stations would have had the guts to play it if it had been released as a single, ignoring the unassailable and bullet-proof credentials of the two legendary singers who performed it, and the equally top-notch songwriters responsible for it.

Kinda boring compared to most of his other songs, in my opinion. Haven't heard that one on the radio for a while, thank goodness.

Wow I really liked Anything But Mine. It's still in my top 5 songs of Kenny's. I'm kind of liking this one too. I still wish they would've went with something other than the beach feel, but I can ignore it and enjoy the lighthearted lyrics. It's far from his best, but it's not a station-changer like Shiftwork was. But then again, I think i'm also in the minority that really liked Beer In Mexico.

If anyone's interested, Kenny's Indianapolis concert will be broadcast live tonight on XM's No Shoes Radio. They're also broadcasting some live music from the parking lot before the show starts (Luke Bryan is on right now).
Edit: I forgot to mention that you can sign-up for a free 3 day trial. All you need is your e-mail address.

It looks like BNA is following in the footsteps of Big Machine by releasing select tracks before Kenny's new album is released as "Nowhere To Go, Nowhere To Be" was made available on iTunes today. Next week (9/30) "Keys In The Conch Shell" will be released, and the week after that (10/7) "Spirit Of A Storm" will be released. You can also use the "Complete My Album" feature, just like with Taylor's album.
As for this single, it reaches a new peak of #2 this week. I think Darius will get one more week at #1, and then Kenny will take over the top for at least two weeks.

I think Kenny has a great shot at spending at least 2 weeks at #1, maybe more. I figure that Darius will hold for a second week (though it may be close), and then Kenny slips in. Depending if Toby or Carrie slip early, he may hold down the top spot for awhile - maybe until Tim McGraw gets there (if he even does).

Might as well update this list, with EWTGTH making it to #1 this week:
1. George Strait - 43 2. Conway Twitty - 40 3. Merle Haggard - 38 4. Ronnie Milsap - 35 5. Alabama - 32 6. Charley Pride - 29 7. Eddy Arnold - 28 8. Dolly Parton - 25 9. Alan Jackson - 24 10. Sonny James - 23 11T. Reba McEntire - 22 11T. Tim McGraw - 22 13T. Buck Owens - 21 13T. Kenny Rogers - 21 13T. Willie Nelson - 21 16T. Tammy Wynette - 20 16T. Brooks and Dunn - 20 18. Garth Brooks - 19 19T. Earl Thomas Conley - 18 19T. Crystal Gayle - 18 21T. Oak Ridge Boys - 17 21T. Eddie Rabbitt - 17 21T. Mickey Gilley - 17 21T. Don Williams - 17 25T. Waylon Jennings - 16 25T. Marty Robbins - 16 25T. Loretta Lynn - 16 25T. Randy Travis - 16 25T. Toby Keith - 16 30. Kenny Chesney - 15 31T. Johnny Cash - 14 31T. The Judds - 14 31T. T. G. Sheppard - 14
So Kenny is the only artist in history with exactly 15 #1s. Toby had better get his She Never Cried up to #1 as well, to maintain his slight lead. Kenny will finish his career with more #1s than Toby, but at least Toby can savor it a bit longer.
But I also think Brad Paisley will end up his career with more #1s than Kenny, and assuming his Start A Band makes it, he'll pull back to within two of Kenny, with 13 #1s. Since I don't think Brad is halfway through his career, and that Kenny probably is (at least the section where he gets widespread national airplay), I'd guess that Brad reaches 30 #1s, and Kenny peters out around 25 to 27.
And Kenny could be catching AJ on the "career weeks at #1" list, as this boosts him up to 55 total weeks at #1 on the Billboard chart, and AJ has 57. I could see EWTGTH getting a three-week stay, and that would give Kenny the tie. Then AJ has to hope that his Country Boy will catch on enough to put him back in the lead.

I listen to a very limited amount of country music, but this is a well written and groovy country record. I like Kenny Chesney anyway, so that's a plus. Had no idea it was a remake.

The deluxe is listed at $22.99 in Canada...I hope they change that, because that's ridiculous. I got Sugarland's deluxe CD for $13.99, so I'm hoping that'll be what they end up charging for Kenny's. Out of the three full songs that I've heard (this, "Ten With A Two" and "Down The Road"), I think "Down The Road" is my favorite, and a good choice for the next single. "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven" looks like it'll have a couple more weeks on top, so hopefully they'll hold off any new single announcement until it gets knocked off.

He's also clinched being the format's #1 singles artist for the third consecutive year.

"Ten With A Two" debuts at #56 this week. I wonder how many other album cuts will chart next week with the CD being released on Tuesday.

I don't know if this was mentioned anywhere, or if they even just started doing it this week, but I just noticed R&R is crediting this as Kenny Chesney W/The Wailers.

I'm not sure I understand this point. First the reviewer says Kenny's "honesty on these eleven songs is admirable," but then he goes on to say that the album doesn't "show his true personality and passion." Seems a little contradictory to me. Anyway, I'll try to post some thoughts on the album in the next couple of days.

HDD first-week sales prediction:
180K seems low to me. It's Kenny Chesney, the superstar... #1 single... massive promo. 180K is definitely way lower than I expected.
