Haha. Maybe his friend is bipolar. Is the girl on Shakin Hands the same as the girl on SIYM?! ;) Yep, she was also referenced in "Next Go Round," "S.E.X.," "Next Contestant," "Animals," and "Figured You Out." Not to mention a slew of Hinder songs. What a whore lol!

Also, I love how he mentions his "Best Friend" giving him such great advice in "If Today Was Your Last Day," and then his "Best Friend" is also some psycho druggie in "Just to Get High." Haha. Maybe his friend is bipolar. My mommy always said that you can have more than one best friend.

"Someone that You're With" and "S.E.X." were the last ones I paired off, so I'll give you that their the least alike. For some reason when I first heard "Shakin' Hands" I thought of "Follow You Home," and the reason is the tempo and the fact that their both harder songs, which you agreed with me on. How is "Burn it to the Ground" not similar to "Fight for all the Wrong Reasons"? In your face songs with a strong hook. I just thought "S.E.X." fit that more, because of the lyrical content.

Did your mommy have one friend who thought profoundly and another that pawned off his mother's jewelry for a quick fix? Actually, the more I think about it the more it makes sense. Why wouldn't a druggie want to live life to the fullest? lol

I'm starting to get annoyed with the "sucking on her thumb" part of the song. It seems kind of stupid and kind of patronizing to even bother doing the whole "it could mean something else". I like the music and I like the song, but that part of it is starting to ruin the song for me.

I think I'd actually like to hear that in a song, actually. It would be refreshing.

No one sucks their thumb to be sexy, it just doesn't work. That's why it's annoying to me. Because of that, it seems too forced, and that's also annoying.

Seriously, hilarious. I'm glad this song is doing well. It's pretty sick. What are the odds that this song hits #1 though? I don't think they are too high.

Figured You Out is their biggest hit to date at Active and Animals s one of their biggest ones as well, and this is in the same vein of those songs, so I would think the chances would be very high for it hitting #1.

It's amazing how Mutt Lange can put out the same albums over and over and they all sell millions of copies. Before I knew that he produced this album I listened to it on a listening party and as the cd went along I thought to myself "wow, this sounds like a Mutt Lange album". I just found out a few minutes ago that it was. I think this is a good song but it's hard to explain it to my rock loving 7 year old.

Let me tell you once more: NICKELBACK?[/i][/u] Think about it. Edit: actually I don't even expect listenable music from them or their fellow bands, but that's a matter of, uh, opinion, I guess.

I miss the days of The State and Silver Side Up. I think The Long Road is when they started becoming more generic in their lyrics and more straightforward in their subject matter. Success unfortunately wore away a lot of what made them interesting.

Curb is listenable. The State is tolerable, but everything else will make your IQ drop.

I miss the days of The State... Before you finished your sentence, I was hoping you were talking about the mid-'90s sketch comedy show on MTV. It is unfathomable why that hasn't found its way onto DVD yet.

I think this is a good song but it's hard to explain it to my rock loving 7 year old. I wouldn't recommend letting them listen to it. But that's just me LOL, I think things like this happen every once in awhile. But then again I didn't really pick up on a lot of sexual overtones in pop culture when I was that young and you could probably convince me they meant something else then. I mean, I know once my psychology teacher in high school (a few years ago) talked about how his son (about 5 then) was singing "Milkshake," so yeah you may want to stray the meaning there...

By soaring from 16-10 in this week's issue of R&R, this becomes their 14th top ten track at Rock radio since the Billboard/BDS chart debuted in June of 1997.
That moves them into first place in that category, breaking a tie with Three Doors Down, with 13 top tens, followed by Aerosmith with 12, Creed with 11, & Audioslave, U2, Foo Fighters & Shinedown tied at 9.
With 'Gotta Be Somebody' in 9th place on this week's chart, Nickelback has now enjoyed 98 weeks with two tracks in the top ten, tops in the format.

Billboard counts Hero as a Nickelback hit, so they had the lead before this. Not a huge surprise. Regardless of what Billboard calls it, it's still not nickelback.
