Not to be that person but I HAVE to say something...when Carrie pulls in 1.6m with an album its great and "not many artist can do that nowadays" and blah blah...but when Britney does the same with no promo its horrid. Wtf? No hate to anyone...and this isn't Britney stanning or Carrie hating...just saying. Lol. Who said 1.6 million for Circus was horrid? Probably someone with an agenda.

I don't really remember anyone saying 1.6 million for Britney was horrible?

Not aimed at anyone in particular, but please remember: the fact that Poster A's behavior seems trollish to you does not grant your equally irrelevant reply immunity.
EDIT: And no, I'm not saying bad music-related claims should stand unchallenged. I'm just saying that the personal attacks are still personal attacks regardless of the target.

fullonrainstorm-I just want to know which country artist has sold close to 12 million cds in less than five years. I don't know THAT much about country so maybe I am missing who has? Since those sales aren't impressive at all for a five year span, which artists are slamming past that? I can only think of Taylor coming close. Do you think Taylor's sales are impressive even though she has only sold around 10-11 in the same time period?
(Can someone fact check Taylor's sales for me? ALl I had was her debut being 4x platinum and Fearless is 6x platinum, but will likely go seven?)

I'm just mystified by the adulation heaped on Carrie when her real world achievements are so middling. Her decreasing album sales from her 1st album to the latest shows she hasn't grown the country music fanbase and she has yet to make inroads internationally.Even Lady Antebellum are starting to tour Europe and Oceania. So even any intangible claims to ambassadorship or trailblazing efforts for country music are shaky at best. If we go by objective criteria like current record sales and concert tickets sold, her achievements aren't impressive either.Carrie's not the 2nd or 3rd biggest album seller in country music nor is her tour even the 3rd or 4th biggest on the country music circuit. Before Carrie fans accuse me of a vendetta, ask yourselves : What part of the previous 2 paragraphs is untrue? While I will agree with you that Carrie is probably in the top 5 touring country acts, I disagree with you about your statement recording Carrie's record sales. Carrie ranks barely only second to Taylor Swift in country albums sales in the past 5 years. Lady Antebellum may be selling better than her with their current respective records but if you factor in longevity with the sales, Carrie is by far more successful, IMO. Rascal Flatts, Paisley, Urban etc. haven't sold anywhere near Carrie in the past 5 years.

Looks like the other Cash Money star releasing his album this week, Kevin Rudolf, is nowhere to be found on HITS. Probably 10-15K for him.

The album will probably stay in the top 10, the early updates are not very reliable. It'll be VERY embarrassing if it doesn't.

The Monday HDD updates rarely mean anything, certain major outlets that can sometimes change the outcome of the final HDD chart are left out until the final update

He's the new face of hip-hop, he's a breath of fresh air, and he has put out consistent good songs to generate buzz. I was expecting 500K at least, but we'll see. Yep my ceiling was 500k and glad to see he will match that or come very close. I got his album and its very good, might get sick of it because my brother is playing his cd so darn much that I told him to quit it lol. Or listen to it on your ipod! I had to wait a couple days because when I went to get mine it was sold out here at best buy so good for Drake. Hope he can get that 500k.

Even if he takes the title for the biggest sales debut this week, Eminem will easilysnatch it right from him next week. Either way, he's still doing a great job.

13 8 CAROLE KING & JAMES TAYLOR HEAR MUSIC 40,027 +50% LIVE AT THE TROUBADOUR
HITS predicted them for around 30k. The extra bump is the "Today Show" effect. Still a great week though.
17 19 B.O.B. ATLANTIC 18,626 -1% ADVENTURES OF BOBBY RAY
Still holding steady, I just wish he were seeing some gains considering how big of a hit "Airplanes" is.
As for Christina, well, better luck next time.

Xtina and Glee had huge drops... great #'s for Sarah, Tom and Drake. Eclipse isn't holding that well, so it might be the first Twilight sdtk to miss the #1 spot.

YAY for Sarah McLachlan! Ouch for Aguilera... still done better than J-Lo's "Brave" atleast but "Bionic" truly makes "Discipline" and other underperforming diva albums look like mega smashes in comparison.
