So up until now this is the only version of the song I'm familiar with:

I seriously thought this was charting on Pop!

Z100 should be all over this ish in a few weeks. It's only a matter of time Z100 starts playing this. The reason? Surprise surprise, Z100's sister station WKTU is already spinning this: WKTU 35 35 MARTIN GARRIX Animals 19 17 2 0.3406 Your wish has been granted. :)

Are US stations playing the censored UK radio edit ( this) or one of the 'uncensored' ones ( this or this)?

Dude, I'd say 50 of those are playing it part of a radio show. I'm all for this song doing well as CHR is pretty rough right now, but this song is a little too intense for any play before 7 or 8pm. It's not going to go that high,
In all honesty, this is like the Sandstorm of the 2010s, which is certainly not a bad thing, is it?

I don't think stations that have only played it as part of a show would register it as an add. As per AllAccess, 20 stations are playing it 23+ times per week, so even if I'm wrong on the first part, it's still gotta be far less than 50. I agree with the rest of your post, but it really has nothing to do with my question of which version is being played. :)

I have no clue what version.
Does AUS have something like mediabase? their charts confuse the hell out of me.

Two mindblowing points:
1. Riptide, 87 weeks?!?
2. 1000 or so spins for the top spot...is that proportionally correct to the amount of stations in the US? I always thought more people lived in Australia...a lot more!

Yeah I know, but nowhere near as much as the US Two mindblowing points: 1. Riptide, 87 weeks?!? 2. 1000 or so spins for the top spot...is that proportionally correct to the amount of stations in the US? I always thought more people lived in Australia...a lot more! They count weeks from the first time a song is played, which was noticeable when "Part of Me" entered the airplay chart with 60 weeks listed (the original demo must have been played once). I didn't know "Riptide" had been out for 87 weeks, but I guess so! It's only been on the chart since June 2013. Um, the CHR panel link as Erin Go Bragh posted lists 15 contributing stations at the bottom, for 733 spins at #1. That makes an average of 49 spins per stations, while US CHR tends to be around 90-95. I can't say for sure if all the stations on the AU CHR panel all have a similar playlist (while I think US CHRs usually do), but I'm not surprised the number is much lower - I can usually listen to the radio for about 3 hours before hearing repeat songs, which would add up to "only" ~56 plays a week. (The population of the US is about 14 times as much as Australia btw.)

This is the most refreshing EDM track to break out in a long time. I wish this type of EDM was dominant in the pop scene. I guess time will tell. This just doesn't seem like a song that would smash on Radio. ..and that's the big issue. Pop radio has spent too much time pandering to all audiences with safe, predictable music, but with this, and "DIL" blowing up, this could be the most exciting year Pop has been in a long time. I'd say screw Adult top 40 and bring on the frenzy. I'm not saying that kind of music, or all of it is poor for say, I just would just like to see hotness like this get the equal amount of mainstream success.
