I think I'll wait until I hear it on the radio or something. I like doing that for some reason.
Can you describe it?

Mid-tempo, great vocal, very charming lyric. Perfect song for pop radio.

I had no idea she was gonna have a Pop single. But I'm glad she does, because this song is so much better than the Country single. I like it!

You know, I was stupid to believe that 19 wouldn't try to push Carrie at Pop, afterall this is 19 were talking about. Why couldn't they just let her be happy in her Country niche? And I don't think pop will play it either. Sorry it just doesn't mix well next to songs like "My Humps." Do I even have to ask if Diane Warren wrote this one? ;) Nope, that ones a given.

Why wouldn't they give pop radio a try? Carrie won a show that is watched by a large amount of pop radio listeners. Clive and Arista are making a good call on this one I believe. This is the perfect song for Carrie and appeals to the core audience at mainstream radio---females. It has a solid hook and a very relevant lyric. If Kelly Clarkson can have a hit with the pop/rock sound, why can’t Carrie Underwood? We’ll see how this does….I love it though. Carrie sounds fabulous.

If Kelly Clarkson can have a hit with the pop/rock sound, why can’t Carrie Underwood? We’ll see how this does….I love it though. Carrie sounds fabulous. Because Kelly is a Pop artist and Carrie is a Country artist. And as recent history shows, the country community doesn't like it when their artist try to go after a pop audience. They're risking burning bridges with Carrie's country supporters with trying to go after a pop audience. And they're doing it with a song that not equiped for today's pop radio. I think its stupid on their part.

Why do we have to pigeonhole an artist to a specific genre? It is ridiculous. It’s not about the artist here. It’s about the song! “Jesus Takes The Wheel” is a country record…”Some Hearts” is a pop/rock record. Why should the country community punish Carrie for releasing a different record to a different format.? Totally ludicrous! And not equipped for pop radio today? Have you seen the recent record sales data for the year? Sales are down big time again…pop radio programs for teenagers, who don’t buy records, they illegally download them. Until that changes and radio embraces more songs that the buying public wants to hear, sales will continue to drop. You put this song to callout in any market and I guarantee it comes back huge. Carrie is as mass appeal as they come.
That’s my two sense….I ain’t getting my hopes up though. We’ll see what happens.

Could you imagine her commercial success if she has a HUGE country hit and a HUGE pop hit? Like I said, I do not see the pop hit happening, but damn...

This is an AWESOME song! It sounds like another song but I can't think of it right away. I can totally see this next to My Humps...why the heck not? It actually would mix well into Hung Up or Don't Bother.

Why should the country community punish Carrie for releasing a different record to a different format.? Totally ludicrous! They've done it to established artists simply for remixing their songs for AC play. A new artist isn't going to get away with releasing separate songs specifically tailored to pop without alienating country radio. I don't understand the mentality, but it's the way it is.

You see some of the same with the alternative/rock crowd (though it seems less prevalent lately) It is a stupid mentality.

It's either you're Country or your not. There's no pop-country category. Faith, Leann, and Shania were all shuned for trying to do pop-country and Faith and Leann are only being let back in now. Shania probably never will be let in again. And not equipped for pop radio today? Have you seen the recent record sales data for the year? Carrie is as mass appeal as they come. That statement just makes no sense. Pop radio is programmed towards teenagers because they make up the majority of the listening audience. Adults aren't listening to pop radio in the masses so why would you program music to an audience that is not your core audience? Teenagers are the ones gobbling up the pop records. While a lot of teenagers download they still consume a large portion of the record buying market. As for callout, I doubt this song would get a good one from the pop audience. The pop audience is interested in disposable pop noone will remember in 5 years from now, a la Hollaback Girl. I'm just going to stick with my position that I think its a stupid move for Carrie's people to try and go after the pop market. They could of at least tried with a song Diane "I haven't had a hit in a long time" Warren.

I don't think her voice is very pop friendly. With that said, the song is alright.

I prefer Jesus Takes The Wheel. I can't see this doing too well on pop and the risk to her country success just isn't worth it! And what a disjointed record this will be if the disparity in sound between Jesus and Some Hearts is prevalent throughout the entire cd.
Just when I thought Carrie's career had been placed into capable hands!!!!

"Jesus Take The Wheel" is way better, and I don't understand why she's already sacrificing her country support. Stupid.

Because that's the way the business works. Especially with Country. It's either you're Country or your not. There's no pop-country category. Faith, Leann, and Shania were all shuned for trying to do pop-country and Faith and Leann are only being let back in now. Shania probably never will be let in again. There is a difference here....Faith and LeAnn were shunned for releasing pop sounding records to Country radio. Once they released something Country again, they were welcomed back with open arms. Carrie is releasing a pop song to pop radio. Give me an example similiar to this where the artist took at hit from Country radio? That statement just makes no sense. Pop radio is programmed towards teenagers because they make up the majority of the listening audience. Adults aren't listening to pop radio in the masses so why would you program music to an audience that is not your core audience? Teenagers are the ones gobbling up the pop records. While a lot of teenagers download they still consume a large portion of the record buying market. I hear what you're saying, but that's the problem. Teenage disposable income only goes so far and with so many other things out there battling for their money, they don’t buy as many CD’s as you may think, especially when they can get music for free. All I’m saying is that pop radio would be very wise to try and win back adults who may have switched to AC/Hot AC because of all the teenybopper music on mainstream pop radio today. In some ways they are…Alicia Keys, Nickelback, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey…all mass appeal artist that are drawing back more and more adults to mainstream radio. I believe this song and Carrie Underwood would do the same. Again, this is only my opinion, not trying to start any trouble. :)

It's okay, but I think she should stick with Country, she has a lot of potential over there. This reminds me of Michelle Branch. I can't see this becoming a big hit, Kelly Clarkson is Pop's American Idol, no one can take her place!

Is it just me or does it sound like Diana DeGarmo? After I listened to it a couple of times I thought it could of been a song Diana would of recorded for her CD. Although Carrie is the better singer. But it just shows how much Dianne "I Haven't Had a Hit In Years" Warren has lost her hit making touch. They were also shunned for simply releasing pop records to a pop audience. They weren't Country artist anymore in the Country communities eye. In some ways they are…Alicia Keys, Nickelback, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey…all mass appeal artist that are drawing back more and more adults to mainstream radio. I believe this song and Carrie Underwood would do the same. By no way is this song on par with recent releases from Alicia Keys, Nickelback, Kelly Clarkson, and Mariah Carey. If pop radio wants to lure an adult audience back ( which they don't) then "Some Hearts" is definitely not the song to do it.

I just really hope they prove you wrong here.

I can't believe they're releasing this. I really, really can't. Diane's peak as a songwriter is long since past.
