I can really see this blowing up. The videos really good, streaming is excellent, and its slowly but steadily gaining on radio. I think this will be a top 5 hit by time the new year rolls around.

OhMyMy and Native by OneRepublic are two of the best pop albums released this decade.

Kinda crazy this is a multi week number one, but it only has 3 pages of discussion on Pulse. Is it really that forgettable?

I like this, but he'd better release Facts as a single.

I wish more pop music had bass as clean and vibrant as this song.

Listened to it 2 days ago. This is It Ain't Me part II, for me. Seriously though. A casual listener could easily mistake this for It Aint Me.

I hope he experiments a little more new album musically. I love the retro throwbacks but Im ready now for something new and innovative.

To be honest I like this song a lot more than Shape of You and Castle on the Hill. It’s extremely cheesy, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad. The melody is timeless and the song serves its purpose. It’s cute. This sentiment is true for most of his songs, excluding Shape of You. Thinking Out Loud and Castle On The Hill arent going to sound dated in 10 years. His songs are very timeless and appeal to basically every age range. Im not a huge Ed Sheeran fan but it would be very hard to find someone who actively dislikes him.

This is pretty good, although Lil Yachty kinda ruins it. Definetly the best choice for a pop single. Calvin should send Cash Out to Urban/Rhythmic.

Oops, forgot about Ariana's debut album (but then again, so did most of the world...) I do think Jack Antonoff and Julia are doing way better recently. To be honest, I dislike Julia and Jack Antonoff even more than 2017 Max Martin. Lol. I’m just not into their style at all. Probably why I’ve been so meh about pop music over the past few years I like Jack Antonoff, but Im not a fan of Julia Michaels. Her music falls on the boring side of minimalist. I want Ryan Tedder to dominate again.

I feel like Jack Antonoff is slowly taking Max Martins place as the most sought after pop songwriter/producer. Him or Julia Michaels.

I honestly think he might be the next big pop star on a Timberlake or Bruno level. He's established his own "sound" in a very short time, he does his own songwriting and production, puts effort into promo, and is still very young. He's puts out 3 excellent singles in a row now (We Dont Talk Anymore, Attention, and How Long).

What kinds of first week sales should we be expecting for this? I have no idea if it will move 100K or 400K.

It could have been a bit less similar to Attention, but this is still really good!

For any given week on the Hot 100, how can i find the cumulative streaming, sales, and radio points of a song? Do I need to be in the radio industry to have access to those figures?

With their current airplay gains and high sales, when will Thunder and Perfect hit top 10?

Overall I think the biggest artists of 2018 will be...
Justin Timberlake Superbowl performance, Hit single, Q2 album
Imagine Dragons Big hits in Thunder and Whatever It Takes, Worldwide Tour
Taylor Swift Not as big an era as 1989, but still massive
Twenty One Pilots Hit Single, Q4 album, big tour
Chance The Rapper Q2 Album, big tour
Beyonce Q4 album, more commercial and poppy
Weeknd Big Q3 album, Hit singles

At the rate this is blowing up, how big is this realistically going to get? As big as Believer? Bigger?
Also, its fascinating how Imagine Dragons singles all climb months after they debut, then stay in the charts for seemingly forever after. Im not complaining, I think they are a great band, just an interesting observation.

From a music theory standpoint, what are some the most complex, sophisticated, or noteworthy modern popular songs?
