The only one I find hot was the short, muscular one. I'm guessing you mean Jeff Timmons. You may or may not be surprised to know that he did release a solo album ("Whisper That Way") in 2004, and put out a calendar with some wonderful photos. I think he worked with a gay manager, or something, who successfully identified his mini-gay following, because his album and singles (and some remixes I think) were targeted very specifically in gay rags for a while when he was promoting the album. I loved that! And didn't Drew win Dancing with the Stars? That was a glaring factual inaccuracy with the article.

This album is a f@cking mess. +1 I love the first half of the album up to Starships, it flows together well, then it turns into a electro/ dance pop album! It's absolutely true! It's literally two separate projects. Come On A Cone is filthy hot, love this. Marilyn Monroe is basically Nicki's "California King Bed." Actually, it's shocking how much she sounds like a poor man's Rihanna on some of the CHR leaning tracks. Not that this is a bad thing, it's just hard to tell it's Nicki. The album is full of hits though.

The remixes were HAWT! One of the many Club Play #1's from the album. The only chart where this album saw crazy success.

Man, I'm not feeling this at all. The chorus sounds like it is trying to be a euro/trance Ultra kind of release, but it just doesn't quite get there for me. I'm shocked this is the same girl who brought us the hauntingly beautiful "Walking On Air" (and I still get a kick from those amazing Ralphi mixes).
I'm all for growth and change, but this song isn't doing it for me.

Just saw her in Boston. She's so ridiculously talented and the new songs sounded really great. Only weird thing is she didn't do an encore. The NY Times raved her NY show and also said something about a lack of an encore. Did she do Criminal at any point, just curious?

Also, his "new" album contains a lot of previously released songs... Is he coming out with an actual new album anytime soon? This is just a cash grab to maximize his TV time. Really smart move on the label's part. All they had to do was add 3 new songs and a really handsome new album cover. Great way to push the Tried and True material a little further since he did a great job with it.

I really hope Blake falls off the chart, he has no business being there with that song. Sorry!

Dirrty and Ain't No Other Man are the only ones I like. Lead singles are clearly not her strong suit, she's got much better tacks that, sadly, remain hidden on her albums. NMT is her best uptempo ever, sooo underrated :( The Kid's Bop Kids did it better "And if you don't like it, boo hoo." Classic. I voted for ANOM. Kara DioGuardi wrote a masterpiece right there. Genie and Dirrty are both great though.

It's not as instant as Domino, but it is extremely catchy and sounds like the essence of summer. However, unlike Domino, there aren't any moments in here that require vocal talent. This could be anyone singing, but I'm liking it anyway.

Dave Aude saves the day yet again! He really did a fantastic job here. I can't say enough about it. I have enjoyed the response from my crowd.

It isn't uncommon for clubs to spin songs multiple times, that's nothing new or unheard of. I know right?? I remember when bad romance was new, multiple plays in one night. People loved it. I don't care for it. I'm allowed to express this opinion.

Honestly, this could be said about 99% of the stuff in this thread. I'm reading and posting because it's giving me some great chuckles.

Simon didn't sign the Spice Girls. But Simon Fuller did Right, but didn't Cowell manage them? Or was everything handled by Fuller?

Yeah, Def Jam just needs to bite the bullet and release this digitally. The damage is done. They need to bite the bullet on this one. Rihanna said it perfectly. The music is innocent. Maybe they can donate some of the proceeds to a domestic abuse charity...oh who am I kidding?

Katharine did the whole Sara Bareilles/Colbie Caillat thing with her second cd and it just...wasn't good. I respectfully disagree. Kara DioGuardi gave her some killer songs, and she sounded very comfortable with this material, as opposed to the box that Sony trapped her in with her debut. (the songs weren't bad, but they were totally ill-suited for Katharine, from what we saw her do on Idol). Personally, I always thought that she should have been paired up with David Foster (more than just the one-off gigs they did together) to do a jazzy-influenced album in the spirit of what he did with Renee Olstead. That would have been a lovely fit, but I was very pleased with the Kara DioGuardi songs. The fact that they didn't sell a damn is just a bummer.

The album's titled Spitfire, LeAnn hosted a listening party last night at the studio in which the majority of the album was recorded. AOL's The Boot was there and posted a nice summary of the whole thing. Confirmed tracks: - "Spitfire"
- "Where I Stood"
quot;You Ruined Me"
would all be on there, too. Things may have changed though b/c that was a while ago!
Random questions, is Where I Stood the Missy Higgins track? And is "You Ruined Me" the JC Chasez track?

What's crazy is that it's actually a good song, and not crap like "Just The Way You Are." (sorry Bruno, that song makes me gag).

This is one of my absolute favorites from Cher. She gives it everything she's got. No surprise that Michael Bolton wrote this, as it has his stamp all over it. His version is completely superflous, but it makes sense that he'd want to give it his own treatment at some point. I need to check out Laura's.

Also, it's not the easiest to understand what she's always saying. Just keep your eyes on her boobs and the lyrics seem a lot less important!

Fun song, and thankfully, not as overplayed or overabusesed as "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You."

The dance remixes deservedly took this song to #1 on the Club Play chart. They are absolute hotness, still play them. Great song. Video was WAY too dark.

Recently heard at Dominick's: "Wait" by White Lion This is especially interesting after Colton Dixon covered another White Lion song on American Idol last week! My favorite randomness in a long time: At Lucky's burger joint in Chelsea (NYC): Joss Stone "Bruised But Not Broken."

I wonder what clubs are playing GMAYL. I have been out a few times and never ever heard it out. Receipts? My bf in LA, when he goes out, tells me, they played GMAYL, like three times in a night. There is too much good music out there, for any DJ to have to play a song more than once in a night. Share the love. (now if you're talking about people putting money into an Internet Juke-Box, that's different)

Great, fun, catchy single. There is no reason this shouldn't be huge. Her Idol performance showed that she can work the stage and sing in tune. Nice job!

I really like this. It has elements of dream house and really nice vocals. Definitely works for me. I'm also enjoying the Alesso Remix of "River Flows In You."

I wonder if Melanie Amaro's "Respect" hadn't been released at the same time as RLP & Barbara Tucker's if the latter would have had a legitimate shot at #1. I'm thinking there was definitely some cannibalism with two versions at the same time. Barbara Tucker's is so solid, but there's no stopping Melanie at this point.

There are a slew of remixes for this. All pretty darn good, with the Jamie Sanchez mixes turning it out. I'll try to review the others soon.
