All of the album's in the year's Top 4 are still moving impressive numbers... It looks like Taylor will be getting reallllly close to 3 million by year's end.

I'm actually more interested to see how MJs album is doing overseas. Like Madonna, he does better worldwide. We will see how it will do in the long run

SuBo has enjoyed higher SoundScan numbers than HITS in recent weeks, so too close to call for the top spot on the Billboard 200.

Seriously it's not like Kanyes sales are bad though. They are solid. Every artist benefits from holiday season so i don't think it's fair to say Kanye has only sold as much as he has because of that. Every artist experience boosts. It's not just ones that are released during the holiday season. Kanye needs to hope All The Lights blows up. If that happens he will be able to sustain some good weeks in the new year. If that doesnt happen he will still be platinum with over a million sold by the end of 2011. That's the worst case scenerio. He may be at 1.5. Yeah, but the ones who experience the largest sales boost are with only a couple of exceptions the ones released near this period. The reason being stores have more of their albums on hand for impulse buyers then they would an album 6 months old unless it's one of the few breakout albums of the year like Eminem's. In any case I agree he shouldn't be singled out. Maybe he'd sell less released earlier in the year but plenty of albums released during this period don't do well so it's not all result of the holidays that it's sold what it has. And he's definitely not the only one who takes advantage of this time of year. Most people aren't going to gamble and release their album in January.

Yes! Biggest increase in the Top 50!! 3 weeks isn't much to brag about yet, but no matter if it debuted with The E.N.D. numbers or not, I always said it would sell at a steady pace, without major drops. Hope I was right.

MBDTF deserves to be selling better. oh well, yeezy can take comfort in the fact that he put out the best album this year, across all genres of music.

Does this chart reflect Eminem's SNL performance? I don't think it does, but I am shocked it got such a huge increase. It will probably be aruond 60-70k again for next week

It will probably be aruond 60-70k again for next week The vast majority of sales gains are due to Christmas shopping. But this tracking week includes Sunday, which would've also reflected any SNL effect.

Plus Recovery's price has been dropped on itunes(with a huge banner).

It was $9.99 on iTunes yesterday. Is that really that much of a price drop? I got it for $9.99 the day it was released.

The SNL performance would not be reflected in this chart. He didn't perform until around 12:10 AM EST and then again around 12:45 AM EST and that is Monday morning.
So he will have a lot of spill over in this weeks chart as well along with the price drop and Xmas shopping

i still don't see why people are freaking out so much about kanye. he's sitting at slightly below 750k, so it's likely he'll hit 800k after this week, then close to 850k in that week that includes the 1st few days of 2011. those aren't "graduation" numbers, and he certainly isn't selling with the consistency of eminem, but like slick nick said, he's going to end up with 1 million or more WITHOUT a hit single. i'm from the camp that thinks "all of the lights" will blow up and give him some more steady sales, so in the end he should be able to to "808's and heartbreak" numbers. in reality, when was the last time an album that got such stunning reviews (92 on metacritic out of 34 reviews) sold this well? universally acclaimed albums (that's the metacritic term) rarely sell more than a couple hundred thousand, and i'm being generous there.
on another note- great numbers for eminem, nicki (really the biggest surprise to me), r. kelly, and rihanna.

Make that Sunday morning, for SNL. :) As stated, it would impact one day of sales for this week's chart.

Ah, didnt see there was a $7.99 version. My mom told me the other day my 91 yr old aunt wanted me to get her a copy of Recovery. I told my mom it has a lot of vulgarity in it and my mom said she told my aunt but she still said she wanted a copy. lol. I guess when you are 91 you want to see or hear what all the fuss is about. Still im hesitant to get her a copy. And I Co-Sign with jgizzle89 post. Kanye has never really been a huge seller. But at the end of the day MBDTF will have sold fine. Nobody will call it a flop sale wise. If they do i don't know how they will justify that stance. College Dropout has sold over 3,100,000. Late Registration has sold over 3,000,000. Graduation has sold over 2,000,000. 808's has sold over 1,600,000. MBDTF is at 750K + and climbing. I mean those are not shabby sales at all. I mean it's not that big of a fall from 808's probably at the end of the day.
