It was included in the $0.99 sale on Amazon, which partially explains the boosts for that, Katy, fun., Gotye, Regina, The Black Keys, Of Monsters And Men, Jason, Florence, The Lumineers, B.o.B., The Wanted, Kimbra, Lana, Drake, and Beach House.

^ Thanks! I knew most of those were part of it, but didn't know that Beach House, Lana, and Ellie were also in the deal. I really missed out; I've been meaning to get Kimbra's album :/

Ok, cool. Stay strong, man. It must be hard to be a Chris brown fan. I haven't bought the album yet but CB fans are going through it...kind of reminds of back in 2004-2007 for us Britney fans. Well, hopefully it at least goes gold. After this, I suggest he takes about 9 months off and just re-evaluate his career. Things seemed to be getting progressively worse regarding the situations he either puts himself in or somehow is placed in...it's like the world is trying to tell him something... P.S. Don't let anyone make you lose your cool because people are waiting for it since you fans are in a vulnerable position... Britney Spears never beat women or men. So how is that comparable to Chris Brown. I guess Chris Brown has shown You can beat the living heck out of a woman and other women will still love you. It's just sick. It's nice to see that you are not posting about Eminem but I didn't compare the incidents...I was addressing how the fans were going through the negativity when their faves are at a low point. Reading comprehension is key, luv. With all of the mistakes Britney was making...particularly in 2007 it was tough for fans to have to deal with the negativity. Somethings were fault...somethings were not but she was up against so much. Fans wanted to relentlessly defend her actions as if she was a family member (right or wrong). I see that in CB fans and empathize with the fans because most of it is just people remembering the worst part and using his recent actions just to bring up a 4 year old incident. I just hope CB really takes some time away to re-evaluate because whatever he does or is done to him finds some way to come out in a negative light and that is not coincidence...it's a message sent but just needs to be received.

It looks to me like the Amazon sales are probably all accounted for in that update. If I'm right, all the Amazon-boosted albums will probably be lower than that come the final tallies.

Maybe when Madonna's Tour hits the US, Amazon will do a .99 sale. :)

^^I have no idea why you care so much. If anything, it makes the charts more interesting.

I hope music is always kept affordable and prices remain competitive enough to encourage people to be music-buyers.

"PERRY, PERRY GOOD: Last week provided plenty of fireworks for Capitol/EMI pop diva Katy Perry. Her 3-D concert movie, Part of Me, landed in the Top 10 in weekend box office gross, earning $11 million over the holiday in 2,730 theaters. And with a new single, “Wide Awake,” sitting atop the iTunes singles chart, Perry’s Teenage Dream album will climb to #2 on tomorrow’s HITS Album tally, tacking another 75k to a total now at 2.3 million, buoyed by last week’s 99 cent AmazonMP3.com sale. Who needs Russell Brand anyway? (7/9p)" www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgi

I never understood why people complain when music is on sale. GaGa, Itunes discounts, album slashes, ect. I'd much rather pay 99 cents for a digital album than 7.99-9.99. Y'all must have some disposable income or something. I only wish they'd have discounted "4" :'( or more albums I want to buy.

Some people stated that 99 cent sales "don't count" so they were going to take off all sales that come from 99 cent sales from an album's total. I wonder if the people who declared that a year ago are still doing it? Seems like it would be hard to keep track and subtract all 99 cent sales from every cd that does it especially since Amazon is doing it all the time now.

I'm sure she'll bounce back into the top 10 next week, but it is strange to see an Adele-less top 10.

I don't know, it seems incredibly dumb to complain about a discount. At the end of the day, that's what we, as costumers, should be fighting for. If CDs were sold for 0.99 I'd bet the record industry would be in a better state than it is today. Would you rather sell 10 million cds for 0.99 or 1 million for 12 bucks?

Yes, I definitely try to take advantage of these sales. I'm not one to normally buy music, but those are such great deals, you can't pass them up. I bought three albums from Amazon's sale.

Frank Ocean will be top 3, perhaps even #2 behind Zac Brown Band. It's download only atm but should still sell well right away.

Labels would still be making more money by selling 1 million albums at a price of $12 than selling 10 million for only $0.99. At the end of the day labels care more about making money/profit rather than selling millions of discounted units.

75k :o The fact that Katy is returning to the top 3 almost 2 years later.....
Capitol is def winning rn. I also can't wait to see what Frank does, he has a lot of online buzz right now and the reception to CO has been really good. I don't know about him being top 3 since he's only selling digitally but I think he will have healthy numbers considering.

When someone buys an album (spending 1, 5 or 10 dollars) it's always better than nothing for artists. The artist becomes more important to the listener right away. He/she might go to see the artist's show and perhaps invest in other albums/singles as well.
It's not that black and white as some people think.

I wonder if Frank Ocean can be like Alicia Keys was -- out of nowhere first album debuts at #1 unexpectedly. The buzz I've heard all week has been overwhelming.

The physical copy comes out next week, but the digital copy is already out and currently #1 on iTunes.
