That's a nice sampling for Taylor for Week 1 chart week. So for next week's chart - the one that matters, she has to make-up 34MM from 8th day effect. Glad we finally have a song that is generating some chart lightning. It's been too long!

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6221958/guardians-of-the-galaxy-soundtrack-billboard-200-chartOver on the Digital Songs chart, Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" stays put at No. 1, selling 239,000 downloads (up 21 percent), while the diva team-up of Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj with "Bang Bang" holds at No. 2 with 131,000 (down 7 percent). Iggy Azalea's "Black Widow," featuring Rita Ora, rises 7-3 with 125,000 (up 17 percent); Grande's "Break Free," featuring Zedd, zooms 14-4 with 116,000 (up 54 percent); and Smith's "Stay With Me" dips 4-5 with 105,000 (down 15 percent). The highest debut on the chart is Grande's "Best Mistake," featuring Big Sean, which enters at No. 6 with 104,000. With the arrival of “Best Mistake” alongside "Bang Bang" and "Break Free," Grande is the first female artist to have three songs in the top six of the chart at the same time. The last artist to notch three in the region was Michael Jackson, who achieved the feat shortly after his death (on the chart dated July 18, 2009). Magic’s "Rude" falls 5-7 with 104,000 (down 15 percent), and Clean Bandit's "Rather Be," featuring Jess Glynne, jumps 12-8 with 95,000 (up 12 percent). Jason Aldean's "Burnin' It Down" moves 6-9 with a little more than 93,000 (down 13 percent), and Sia's "Chandelier" hangs out at No. 10 for another week with 93,000 (up 3 percent). Digital track sales this past week totaled 19.6 million downloads, down 3 percent compared with last week (20.2 million) and down 15 percent stacked next to the comparable week of 2013 (23.1 million). Year-to-date track sales are at 735.1 million, down 13 percent compared with the same total at this point last year (843.3 million). Chart News @chartnews on Twitter: Hot Digital Songs: #1 All About That Bass, @meghan_Trainor 239,000 Hot Digital Songs: #2 Bang Bang, @jessiej, @arianagrande & @nickiminaj 131,000 (502,000 total) Hot Digital Songs: #3 Black Widow, @iggyazalea Feat. @ritaora 125,000 Hot Digital Songs: #4 Break Free, @arianagrande Feat. @zedd 116,000 Hot Digital Songs: #5 Stay With Me, @samsmithworld 105,000 (2,242,000 total) Hot Digital Songs: #6 Best Mistake, @arianagrande Feat. @bigsean 104,000 (debut) Hot Digital Songs: #7 Rude, @ournameismagic 104,000 Hot Digital Songs: #8 Rather Be, @cleanbandit Feat. @jessglynne 95,000 Hot Digital Songs: #9 Burnin' It Down, jason_Aldean 93,000 (498,000) total) Hot Digital Songs: #10 Chandelier, @sia 93,000 (1,023,000 total)

Smith's "Stay With Me" dips 4-5 with 105,000 (down 15 percent). Magic’s "Rude" falls 5-7 with 104,000 (down 15 percent) so Sam ended up VERY slightly ahead in sales after all! hopefully that + his airplay lead is enough to overcome his streaming disadvantage. I'd really like to see him get in a week on top before it becomes all about Tay and Meg. **fingers crossed**

It's kind of sad that the #1 song this week will only have 104-105k digital sales.

How could Kworb be so far off again? I was so glad that Rude had the sales advantage this week...oh god I'm so scared that SWM will get that week on top...Rude just needs to hold on for one more week only before Taylor Meghan to take over just in time :/

I can imagine people finding it bland/boring, but that doesn't seem like such a serious crime. I like the song well enough...and, admittedly, I also like the idea of seeing an openly-gay male reach No. 1. that hasn't happened since...?

But I know that's not gonna happen unfortunately...and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that doesn't want SWM to reach #1.

Elton John in 1997.
And the "Stay With Me" hate is getting old. I haven't seen anyone bash "Rude" here, which is miles worse.

I have a question about Rude/SWM but not about the bash/quality or whatever. What I want to know is why is SWM ahead in sales? I love the song and all, but until recently Rude has been ahead of SWM on iTunes so for SWM to be ahead in sales just really confuses me tbh.

"Stay With Me" has a few versions charting inside the iTunes Top 300 (including one with Mary J. Blige)..."Rude" only has one other version, down in the 900's.

For all we know the number one song this week could be neither Rude nor Stay with Me! I think that with the big sales advantage, given enough streams All About that Bass could take the #1 spot! It's a possibility...

There are more sales outlets than just iTunes. Given their similar numbers, Amazon or another service may have made the difference. I would like "Stay With Me" to hit number one just to shake things up. Especially since Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor are heading for the top it would be nice to see a quick one-week #1. That's only happened one time (Bruno Mars' "When I Was Your Man") since streaming was added, and there have only been two single-week toppers in the past three years. Let's get some turnover again!

According to Daniel Collin's thread, Katy Perry's "Birthday" sat at #97 with 4k chart points on the Hot 100 last week. SIO got 10M AI according to Mediabase, which translates into about 1k chart points. No streaming or sales points for this week. It doesn't have enough points to debut. Daniel's estimate can't be THAT far off. Daniel Collins' Don't give too much credit to me. It's Billboard's data, I'm just doing the predictions. That 10M AI was only based on FEW hours. Kworb has "Shake It Off" at 33M now (23M from today). A Hot 100 entry is not a question anymore. Sorry for the typo! And I thought the airplay tracking is only until Tuesday, so the +23M update only counts for next week because it's Wednesday's update, no? And I don't think 1k points would be enough for a Hot 100 debut...

She would have to debut at #100 or #99 this week to get that accomplishment next week.

^ or #98 Unlikely, but possible...definitely very likely that she will get the third highest debuting between #80 and #95 (that is if she debuts at all this week which I don't think she will...remember how Applause just missed the top 100 last August?) Roar debuted at #85 and a lot of us thought that for sure it would make the third highest jump. Blurred Lines was truly massive to be able to hold it off those two weeks! I was quite surprised that week I remember...

www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgiNEW RELEASES: It could be another battle for #1 as week to date sales suggest Wiz Khalifa and the Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix, Vol.1 soundtrack will both land in the 70-80k range. You'll also note the addition of another Various Artists contender, Big Machine's Mötley Crüe Nashville salute. Here are this week's key debuts, with a glass of Jack to accompany some of the week's hard-partying releases. Wiz Khalifa (Atlantic) 70-80k Chase Rice (Dack Janiels/Thirty Tigers/Sony Nashville) 37-40k Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Mötley Crüe (Big Machine) 28-31k Ace Frehley (eOne) 17-20k Smokey Robinson (Verve) 9-11k Imogen Heap (RCA) 8-10k Colton Dixon (Sparrow) 8-10k As for singles, Taylor Swift's ultra-Pop track "Shake It Off," appears headed to the 425-450k range in its opening week.
