Chart Notes: - So trying a table format instead of using Excel, in part to prove josh that yes, I do know how to make fixed tables, jerk! Not sure it's worth my time because my old method felt quicker, but maybe that's because this is the first time I was doing it and now I have a template. Maybe the few of you who check this chart can tell which format works better.
- Top five is virtually the same this week. The only difference is that instead of Hello by Adele at #3, it's uhm When You Were Young by Adele, who might have the year's highest debut this year as well!
- Bonnie Raitt is poised to have the longest span from first top ten to latest on my chart, as she debuts just outside the top 10 this week. Madonna set the record last year when she hit the top ten with Living FOr Love making for a span from 1998-2015. Bonnie Raitt also first hit my chart in 1998.

Yay Coldplay But it should be quicker now that you have the coding down. Just copy/paste and edit from now on. Plus now when you have typos (like the a in song #2 being capitalized) you can just fix them rather than having to do a new picture. :)

Plus now when you have typos (like the a in song #2 being capitalized) you can just fix them rather than having to do a new picture. :) COuld you made a pickier typo observation? But yes, that's what I was thinking - the only pain is having to change the colors around for debuts - it's hard to find in the code - I wish I could put spacing in the code for each line, but when I do that, it just reverts to jumbling it all together again. And it IS a lot of green, but I don't have the energy to go through and change the color of each individual cell to something a little less obnoxious. Maybe when I get a down moment, I can, but school starts today, so that will have to wait until Spring Break. Fancy: Adele as popstop: Carly, I guess.

Year's highest debut, it's like the third week I don't know half the songs so I probably shouldn't comment BUT I love your #1 <3 Hmm, true, but it's unusual for songs to debut in my top 5. I think it only happened three times last year, and one was a Christmas song, so I do believe Adele may get the title for 2016 even though we're only three weeks in. Thanks for checking in on my chart. :) I love my #1 too. :'(

Chart Notes: - Coldplay officially has their biggest hit ever on my chart as it becomes their first song to spend 4 weeks at the top. They've hit #1 six previous times, two of which held sway for three weeks (Christmas Lights and Lost!).
- The letter Γ seems to be a popular this week as two of the debuts go to people using that character. Selena Gomez gets a higher debut than either of them though.
- Three high ranking songs of 2015 leave the chart this week. With the last month of points added in, Colorado's own Nathaniel Rateliff would have ended #13 (up from #16), Focus would have ended #19 (up from #31!), and Gwen would have ranked #27 (up from #37).

So 2010 started off with one of the longest-peaking #1s of the decade. Lady Gaga was waiting Sexy Bitch out patiently before it would not only become a #1 hit, but it would end up being the #1 song for 2010. I don't even remember liking Hey Soul Sister, but somehow it managed to be #3 for two weeks. And the Hiromi piece is one of two classical songs to ever hit my chart. Chart Notes: - A special Superbowl coloring for the chart this week -with orange-ish and blue. I can tell you that the fate of Victorious hinges on the Broncos' performance this weekend because it will be the last song I feel like hearing if they lose. Coldslay is performing at the Super Bowl as well; to celebrate, they get their fifth week at #1.
- Sorry FINALLY breaks through to the chart. Justin's three songs have been kind of in my bubbling under for weeks upon weeks, but I am finally overcoming my Bieber bias and allowing him to chart for the first time. Just a few spots below, Zayn has no problem debuting now that he's ditched the rest of his former band members.
- Selena Gomez gets the biggest jump prize, giving her a 2nd top ten following Good For You.

2011 is probably one of my favorite chart years, but it got off to a soft start with Daft Punk's Derezzed starting off the year. Adele and Gaga were just weeks away from charting with the biggest hits of the year - Born This Way and Rolling in the Deep. Grenade is the only one of these that gets significant recurrent play. Hey, if you don't mind answering, how are you able to add a background color to each column?

You need to assign a color code to each individual cell. Changing the color for this was a huge pain, and I don't think I'll make changing the color a regular thing. I need to find a good color scheme to stick with though.
If you hit quote on my table and then check the code, you can see the color codes I used for the lines and cells.

WhenI used to make charts in HTML tables, I would colour code just the "This week" position with songs that were bulleted. I suppose you could do that for certain movements like debuts or whatever. If you want just one colour for the whole thing, couldn't you just put the color tag in the (table) attribute? Row 1 column 1 | Row 1 column 2 | Row 1 column 3 | Row 1 column 4 | Row 1 column 5 | Row 2 column 1 | Row 2 column 2 | Row 2 column 3 | Row 2 column 4 | Row 2 column 5 | Row 3 column 1 | Row 3 column 2 | Row 3 column 3 | Row 3 column 4 | Row 3 column 5 | Row 4 column 1 | Row 4 column 2 | Row 4 column 3 | Row 4 column 4 | Row 4 column 5 | Row 5 column 1 | Row 5 column 2 | Row 5 column 3 | Row 5 column 4 | Row 5 column 5 |
Yes, you can. And you can still override it by putting a different colour in a (td) or (tr) attribute for rows or individual cells.

Chart Notes: - Since my Super Bowl coloring was off last week and we are celebrating the glorious Broncos win yesterday, I have switched to orange. Thanks for the tips on coloring by table and row. It will make it much easier to update going forward. Now I just have to find the right colors :)
- As promised, Victorious takes a huge jump. As you might expect, this has gotten a lot of play over the past week and will probably get even more this week. Coldplay gets a strong boost from their Super Bowl appearance.
- Further down, Beyonce debuts at #8. This makes her 19th appearance as a solo artist in the top ten and 23rd overall appearance. That puts her second only to Eminem. Meanwhile, Adele's Hello falls off the chart. It would have finished at #3 overall (up from #9) for 2015 on the year-end chart.

2012's chart was a really interesting and unusual week. Between Madonna's Super Bowl appearance and Whitney's death both managed to debut that week. Add in Bonnie Raitt's first single off her album Slipstream and the early 90s were in full swing. Whitney's #1 debut is one of only four ever on the chart (the other's are Nirvana in 2002, Crazy Frog in 2005, and Gaga in 2011 - what a weird mix.) August/September of 2012 would see another top five with all three as both Madonna and Bonnie were on second singles, and Sparkle had just been released featuring a couple Whitney songs on the soundtrack. At #2, patiently waiting to hit #1 (seriously, it was in the top 5 for eight weeks prior to hitting #1) was Gotye with what would be the #1 song of 2012. At #3, patiently waiting to hit #1 (it spent 6 weeks in top five before hitting #1) was Adele, same as she may be doing in 2016! Enough airplay locally was happening for this song that I forced it to be a fifth single (and fifth #1) from 21. Pop's Retro Chart - This week in 2012 | LW
