I wouldn't say "Work" had terrible airplay. It's been top 10 for 1-2 months no? "Terrible" to me implies out of the top 10 at best, if not more like out of the top 20.

It peaked at what, #2/3 on overall radio? Sure, maybe it's falling a little quicker than normal, but it's a pretty polarizing song. The majority of us weren't even expecting it to do as well as it did! Not all songs can be whatever the hell is happening with Love Yourself and Stressed Out, two songs that have LONG overstayed their welcome in the top two. (Seriously, how the hell is LY STILL number one?)

Gangnam Style not reaching number 1 is probably the saddest thing that has ever happened on the Hot 100. and Gangnam Style topped the Streaming Songs chart long after it fell out of the Hot 100  anyway, let's try to avoid off-topic conversations so that this thread doesn't turn out like the last couple and let's get back to talking about this week's Hot 100 before the mods get pissed againGS could've broken the record... idk, 17 weeks is a LONG time. |

I don't know about Gangnam Style but the "saddest" events in the history of the Hot 100 in my opinion were:
Songs like: Songs like Don't Speak (16 weeks at #1 on airplay) and Iris (18 weeks at #1 on airplay) also not hitting #1 (or in the case of Don't Speak, not charting)
Other songs like Stairway To Heaven not charting at all

Bear in mind that none of Prince's songs are on Spotify or YouTube, so his chart entries might be limited.

Could be looking at a Michael Jackson-type takeover on both here and the album charts. (Yes beginning with 5/14)
The iTunes top 10 contains 4 Prince songs and the news is not that old.

In the 1.2 hours ago update on Kworb, there are no Prince songs in the top 100. In the latest update on LivePopBars, there are four in the top 10, one in the top 20, two in the top 30, two in the top 40, eight in the the 50-100 range and a bunch below

For what it's worth, there's a deep discount on 7 Years on Google Play compared to Panda and Work (7Y is 49 cents compared to the normal $1.29). Troye Sivan's Youth is on sale as well (but at 69 cents). Wonder if either one/both are on sale in ITunes?
They're not as it turns out, but Alan Walker's Faded is on sale (69 cents) there.
This could affect sales numbers and predictions.

It's not going to be top 10 on <12 hours of sales Considering his current lead on iTunes with combined versions/weighted, I wouldn't be suprised: "Purple Rain" 1.000 "7 Years" 0.270 He still has another 5-6 hours before the end of the tracking period and his lead is likely to continue to get larger. |

Sturgill Simpson, the only non-Prince album in the top 10
The chart impact should be good for 2-3 weeks at least longer, if one of the albums catches fire.
