There's a live performance of "Purple Rain" that got 5 million+ views on Thursday, so that may give him 1-2 million streams in the US.
Since Thursday it's gotten another 10 million+ views and there's a lot of other videos of the song scattered on youtube which have been getting lots of views.
So if Billboard are counting live performances, then it should have some streams for this chart and a good amount of streams for the next one.

What the hell? Do you guys not even read iTunes? These are my predictions: 1. Purple Rain 2. 7 Years 3. Little Red Corvette 4. When Doves Cry 5-6. Kiss 5-6. I Took a Pill In Ibiza 7. Let's Go Crazy 8. Raspberry Beret 9. 1999 10. Panda Prince's songs have too big of a lead on iTunes to miss the top 10. Digital still counts, remember! I think ITAPIB might finally go top 5!!!!!!!!!!!!! f**king 7 years probably blocked again. It's not gonna be that huge. Sooner or later those songs are gonna start falling in the pop bars (so far it's already started), and the charts will go back to normal. I'm guessing that Purple Rain managed to get at least 200k sales yesterday (if it did indeed get 125k during the first 12 hours), so these next couple days are gonna be crucial in overcoming Panda (not 7 years, since that song's pretty much done). Also, don't forget the streaming and airplay gap that it's gonna have to overcome (which it's doing a good job of so far). I think Little Red Corvette and When Doves Cry are going to be fighting for one of the lower top 10 spots, and there will be a few more scattered down the top 50. It's not gonna be a complete top 10 takeover. |

Hypocrites or sarcasm? There's a difference. In any case, I think we should have a separate thread for predictions and all the other nonsense that doesn't contribute to the actual hot 100. At this point, the thread is no longer even about the hot 100 and instead has become about how accurate predictions are. There's no reason why my prediction, whether serious or not should have resulted in a whole page of replies telling me how wrong it was. I don't understand this whole mentality against people who make predictions that don't line up with yours. Like seriously. Fuck off. And don't even get me started on abbreviations. I hate being nitpicky but there's so many little things annoying about these threads lately and they're all adding up. Can we please discuss the chart itself and only the chart itself?

If not, go play outside for awhile. Come back when dinner is ready... on Monday or Tuesday. it doesn't have to be 12+ pages of nonsense every week. Nothing wrong with "only" 4 or 5 pages of relevant reading. Predictions and the updates and the back and forth that follows all of it would be better served in a dedicated thread. I do love me a itsravi prediction with clearly his presented, relevant data to back it up once or twice a week, and his educated responses to questions and comments... but I can do without all the rest, frankly. It's just noise - as well-intended or harmless as it may be to the poster. |

And since you and your friends are seeming to use making predictions as an excuse for wrecking the Hot 100 threads in general, it may be best to divorce those from this thread and move them there. |

When we have a little conversation about the chart, people complain. If we don't post something that isn't info-related, people complain. Which is funny because I can go back to threads from a year ago and there will be alot of posts that aren't even info. So before people say that these threads have gone downhill for not having just info, they are wrong because it wasn't only info. Also, isn't this a CHART DISCUSSION thread? Not a chart statistics thread. Like what's so fun about a DISCUSSION thread with only statistics? -_- |
