I don't think the Chainsmokers even care about more weeks at #1 for Closer, if there is still no video and they are already releasing the follow up single.

There is no confirmation that AWK is even going to radio. Sounds like a random release just for the fun of it.

Go Gold! I want this to go top 10 on the hot 100 and airplay. And it's already top 10 on Pop Songs - hope it reaches top 3 on the latter chart.

Same thing happened with DLMD tho, Inside Out was released before DLMD MV.

I thought I was the only one that didn't get the "Closer" hype. It's a decent song, I bought it. lol But the amount of weeks it's been num.1???? I mentioned that this was the num.1 song in the country for weeks to a friend and they looked at me like I had 10 heads. lol They agreed it was catchy and she thought it was ok but couldn't see why it was num.1 for so long. I can see why songs like "7 Years" that many didn't like but many loved being num.1. There wasn't that much on radio that sounded like it and the message etc. This song sounds more like a good forgettable hit that might sneak in a couple weeks at num.1 but this many????? lol

Will The Chainsmokers ever release a full album or will it be just singles? If they had one, it would likely be topping the Billboard 200 for weeks like Drake with its huge SPS

Will this boost Heathens's performance on chart? I think SNL is a big thing on TV.

^^ unfortunately even though that will probably give it a boost, it probably won't be enough to overcome the huge lead that Closer has...I guess that's just the way it goes for twenty one pilots

I want Closer to get 11 weeks at #1 because I prefer it to One Dance and would rather it have the longest reign of the year, but at the same time I hope for a new #1 around that time

Nothing to do with the Hot 100, belongs in the Pop forum. Libra? Indeed, I do think it is not particularly good form to post Radio & Records Pop chart flashbacks in the Hot 100 thread, particularly when Billboard has their own Top 40 Mainstream chart with which to do that. I will say that by sheer coincidence, the posted 2003 chart happens to match the 10/18/2003 Billboard Mainstream chart exactly. 2004 does not match any Billboard chart, however, and at that point I stopped checking.

While I do agree that chart is interesting, it's unnecessary. You don't have grounds to try to "police" this thread. I would suggest that you not persist in attempting to do so, though my PM box is open if you wish to take up your concerns there. Until then - back to our regularly scheduled Hot 100 thread. :)

I'm using the Mediabase charts. 2004 matches perfectly popradiotop20.com/POP/2004/2004-10-08.htmI'm not gonna be posting random flashbacks in the pop forum, this thread seemed most appropriate to me since airplay is posted here and its not the Hot 100 either. Anyway, if it bugs 1 user that much (something I've been posting for years on the Hot 100 thread but only now people seem to have a problem with it), I wont be posting it anymore. For people who like it, you can catch the retros on the ATRL US airplay thrad.

Next #1 predictions - Niall Horan - This Town (We'll see how this run works) - The Chainsmokers - All We Know (This could either be a follow up to closer or flop) - The Weeknd - Starboy (U guys knew this was coming. It has potential to be #1) - twenty one pilots - Heathens (After their snl performance this might have enough power otherwise not a chance) - Bruno Mars - ? (Of course it will be #1 unless it is another rise and make me) - DJ Snake - Let me Love You ft. Justin Bieber (This is gaining fast do we're gonna have to see about this)

Today is thursday and The Chainsmokers, The Weeknd, Niall Horan and Cashmere Cat/Selena Gomez has released songs. There's any reason for them not waited until tomorrow?
