Next #1 predictions - Niall Horan - This Town (We'll see how this run works) - The Chainsmokers - All We Know (This could either be a follow up to closer or flop) - The Weeknd - Starboy (U guys knew this was coming. It has potential to be #1) - twenty one pilots - Heathens (After their snl performance this might have enough power otherwise not a chance) - Bruno Mars - ? (Of course it will be #1 unless it is another rise and make me) - DJ Snake - Let me Love You ft. Justin Bieber (This is gaining fast do we're gonna have to see about this) Honestly, I'm not sure any of those really have a chance right now besides a new Bruno single. Right now Closer has, what, 65k weekly points? Enough so that a new debut would probably need a 400k+ sales week, as well as around 35-40 million streams or more if they're not already high on airplay. Maybe more. Maybe not as much for Starboy since that has some airplay behind it, but even that song has a long way to go. I imagine This Town will have similar numbers to Pillowtalk's first week, which was enough to dethrone Love Yourself's 40k-ish points, but not enough to beat Closer. I can't imagine Let Me Love You getting even close either, at the rate it's going. I guess All We Know could do it if it brings Closer down upon release, but I doubt that will happen. As for Heathens, it would need pretty huge boosts as well, because right now it's not even close.

Today is thursday and The Chainsmokers, The Weeknd, Niall Horan and Cashmere Cat/Selena Gomez has released songs. There's any reason for them not waited until tomorrow? It's already Friday in other parts of the world.

How does it work exactly? It's different single to single, but for smaller artists, that's exactly how it works. It goes on sale on iTunes at midnight in that country (or first time zone in that country if the country has more than one). Some artists will hold out until midnight on the east of the US, though.

Indeed, I do think it is not particularly good form to post Radio & Records Pop chart flashbacks in the Hot 100 thread, particularly when Billboard has their own Top 40 Mainstream chart with which to do that. I will say that by sheer coincidence, the posted 2003 chart happens to match the 10/18/2003 Billboard Mainstream chart exactly. 2004 does not match any Billboard chart, however, and at that point I stopped checking. I'm using the Mediabase charts. 2004 matches perfectly popradiotop20.com/POP/2004/2004-10-08.htmI'm not gonna be posting random flashbacks in the pop forum, this thread seemed most appropriate to me since airplay is posted here and its not the Hot 100 either. Anyway, if it bugs 1 user that much (something I've been posting for years on the Hot 100 thread but only now people seem to have a problem with it), I wont be posting it anymore. For people who like it, you can catch the retros on the ATRL US airplay thrad. I always enjoyed the retro posts. Despite not being technically hot 100 retro, they were never intrusive in any way. Do keep them!

hitsdailydouble.com/streaming_songsFriday, September 30, 2016 NEW CHART: TOP 50 STREAMED SONGSHITS’ newest chart has just been updated. The Top 50 Streamed Songs Chart, powered by BuzzAngle Music, which made its debut a week ago, joins the Songs Plus Streaming (SPS) and Album Sales charts, each of which turns over every Friday for the week ending the previous day. How do we do it so fast? Simple—it's magic. Click here to access it. Like its companions, the Top 50 Streamed Songs Chart zeroes in on where the action is in today’s music biz. With an ever-increasing number of fans doing their listening via on-demand streaming, this chart functions as the modern-day equivalent of the traditional singles chart—it’s where today’s hits live long and prosperous lives. Unless I'm overlooking something, "Closer" looks set to be the first song to simultaneously score a 1-1-1 hat-trick across digital, airplay, and streaming since "Hello."

With that airplay lead and an eventual MV, Starboy ain't a threat. Unless the MV is simply incredible, I really don't think it will have much of an effect. The Lyric video is already huge, so if people like the video then they will just switch over to that, and if they don't then the lyric video will just continue to do huge numbers.

People will be tired of the lyric video before they're tired of an official clip.

Well, and I can't believe they would lose that many downloads waiting until Friday in the U.S. Niall could have had a great debut if all sales were in the same week, but this odd release will hurt it. I can't believe it happened last week with Weeknd and now this week, too. I guess it shows they don't all care about the Hot 100 like we do. Lol.

Predictions: Rank | Song | Sales | Airplay | Streams | Points | 1 | Closer | 150 | 140 | 36.5 | 61,100 | 2 | Heathens | 80 | 105 | 20.0 | 36,100 | 3/4 | Starboy | 105 | 55 | 18.0 | 32,200 | 3/4 | Cold Water | 40 | 120 | 18.5 | 31,900 | 5 | Let Me Love You | 50 | 85 | 14.5 | 26,100 | 6 | Treat You Better | 35 | 115 | 10.0 | 23,700 | 7 | Cheap Thrills | 30 | 120 | 9.0 | 22,800 | 8 | Broccoli | 30 | 40 | 18.0 | 22,300 | 9 | Don't Let Me Down | 25 | 70 | 13.0 | 20,100 | 10 | We Don't Talk Anymore | 45 | 60 | 10.0 | 19,300 | 11

| 15 | 85 | 10.5 | 18,900 |
Notes: - Starboy's 18M stream estimate could be a bit off which is why I've put it at 3/4. Also, its airplay figure may be higher as MTS pointed out to me; the rest of the top 10 is pretty straightforward.
- Just outside, Gold should pull off a significant jump to somewhere between 12 and 14, dependent upon how fast Ride falls and how much of a boost One Dance gets from the Apple Music movie exclusive. I currently have Gold at #13.
- Too Good's top 10 chances are pretty much done now that it is falling on radio... unless the movie exclusive can boost it although I don't know if it's even included as I haven't watched it. If someone else can assure this, that'd be great.
