Honestly, if she kept the Normani track on the original album and gave it a better name (Sad Disco since they sing that in the chorus together), that could've also worked for an album title. However, Future Nostalgia is way better.

Not gonna lie...I love both albums. But I was really hoping Dua would take #1 in every main market in the world along with every other damn country lol

Dua has 3 songs in the top 6. (couldn't chart more because of the 3 song rule but presumably she would have had more in the top 40.) 5SOS has 1 song that just debuted at #81. I think it's clear which album's the greater commercial and critical success.

I'm a little pissed that Dua missed the #1 spot by 551 copies, but if it's considered that Future Nostalgia was brought forward a week, she and her team made a good work to handle this in my opinion. However, on the bright side, I expect the album to hold like her self-titled has done there and it might climb atop in the following weeks.

Yup, self titled is #19 this week. its 65th week in top 20. has not fallen below #70 since its release 148 weeks (almost 3 full years) ago.

As it was mentioned above, Future Nostalgia debuts at #2 in the UK (#1 on downloads, streaming and vinyl; #2 on sales). It sold 34,390 copies, becoming Dua's highest-charting release to date there.

It was the head to head albums chart battle nobody quite anticipated but perhaps one that we badly needed.

Unexpectedly, it is 5 Seconds Of Summer who are top of the charts this week, the late addition to their tally of a larger than usual number of direct sales helping them overcome what had grown to be a sizable deficit by the time of the final midweek flashes. The Australian group's fourth studio album Calm takes them to No.1 for the second time, debuting at the top with 34,941 sales of which all but 3,739 were paid purchases. That total is even more impressive when you consider that despite the benefit of housing a sizeable hit single (something Calm lacks) their last album Youngblood only debuted at No.3 in 2018 with a first week sale of 16,040. The group's other No.1 album was their second release Sounds Good Feels Good, which debuted at the top in 2015 with a sale of 42,459.

She may then have ended up the week's runner-up but it was still only by the narrowest of margins. Home to three of this week's Top 10 singles, Dua Lipa's second album Future Nostalgia debuts a week earlier than scheduled in second place with a chart sale of 34,390 – just 551 copies behind. That's the second time this year that a hair's breadth has separated the Top 2 on the albums chart, Justin Bieber triumphing with Changes by just 150 copies over Lewis Capaldi back in February. Future Nostalgia is still Dua Lipa's highest-charting release to date, eclipsing the No.3 that her self-titled debut eventually climbed to just over two years ago. Said album also enjoys a sales boost of its own this week, climbing 28-19 (2,778 sales) to occupy its highest rung since September last year. To date it has accumulated 603,754 sales.

5SOS's fourth album claims the top spot on this week's Official Albums Chart, finishing just 550 units ahead of Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia. It's the band's second Number 1 in the UK after 2015's Sounds Good Feels Good.

83% of Calm's Week 1 total came from physical sales, including 12,000 copies on cassette. For Dua, Future Nostalgia performed evenly on physical and streaming formats, each contributing just over 40% to her total. The album does however claim the Number 1 spot on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, shifting 3,000 copies on wax.

Yes hi I don't come in the pop threads too often as I'm primarily a country girl in terms of my posting. Just wanted to come in here after a week and give a GLOWING review of Future Nostalgia. I don't think I've seen a better rollout in my life, despite the criminal leak and early release. Every song is incredible--hit after hit after hit--and I am particularly in love with "Cool" and I NEED that to be a single. Also really really love "Boys Will Be Boys" and obviously the singles and "Break my Heart" are all bops. Literally can't pick a favorite, this album is too incredible. But really, I have to say that I have never in my life felt such a sense of euphoria. This album on first listen just made me happy. I really don't know how to explain it but all I can say is not only did miss Dula Peep do what she set out to accomplish with this album--have us bopping our asses and making us feel good--she created one of the best albums of my life. I can't thank her enough for deciding to release this album and giving us this release, this escape from everything going on right now. It was really needed, even if that escape only lasted about an hour or so. Can't believe she was criminally robbed of #1!! She deserves that and more. This is not only the Album of the Year (2021 Grammys I'm looking at you bi**h!), but this really is going to go down as the Album of the Decade, and a timeless classic.

Yeah not sure how the album that has 3 simultaneous top ten hits isn't the number one album in the country. Obviously it was close but oh well. This will hang around a lot longer then the 5SOS album will.

To be more specific, 5SOS sold 13k units on the last day when they had been selling ~650 after the first day. Not to mention the countless celebrities with large fanbases in the UK promoting the album on their social media accounts. Definitely suspicious.
