Yeah "pov" has now officially hit it's peak, Not bad for a 3rd single from an A-List Pop Star. The fact that she still managed to go Top 3 in Pop Radio even with the song itself not performing that well in the other metrics is really just a testament to her star power. It really is just hard to believe that only 3 years ago before the release of the single "Thank U Next" that she had not yet gotten a number one on the Hot 100. I mean the week that she released that song really just took her mainstream career to a whole other level and I just couldn't be more proud of seeing just how far she has come since then. Ari's team did a really poor of promoting pov, I can't find an occasion where they did this, no video and only one live performance of it, they need to do better next time.

it's showing "Look What You Made Me Do" & "Born This Way" kind of gains on radio (perhaps even better than those) without the support those two had from streaming/sales and the public discourse. this is a lot of unjustified radio love, especially for an artist whose last single peaked at #19 on overall radio (and never made the Top 50 on streaming). Thatβs fair. I compared it somewhere to Justin Timberlakeβs Cant Stop This Feeling. Iβm not sure how that did on sales or streaming but I always thought its radio performance out of the box was bigger than it should have been, especially considering his previous era wasnβt particularly big (though it did okay) and there were no indications that JT was even still a radio staple, yet the song went on to hit number one. In this case, Iβd say Ed is closer to coming off his peak and while Afterglow didnβt do much, stand-alone singles are also not the best gage of where an artist is in their career as a hitmaker. I would have still expected Edβs era-launching single (presumably) to do well right away - but even these numbers on pop radio are oddly high.

Lol, it must be a βtestament of her star power.β Or even the fact that most of her #1s were just one week #1s that barely stayed in the top 10 for more than a few weeks (except βPositions.β)

I mean aren't some people dragging Maroon 5 and Ed Sheeran for similarly radio fueled hits? "pov" did terrible on all other metrics in a way no recent M5 or Sheeran single has done. I love Ari but it can't be "star power" for her and payola for the acts we don't like. Yeah I totally get what your saying, Although if there is an Airplay Chart that is obviously filled with Radio Payola it is hands down the Country Airplay Chart, I mean you can have a certain song literally go from having 6000 spins the previous week to gaining well over 2000 spins in it's push week, If that isn't obvious radio payola then I don't know what is.

What ππ it's not even charting on Spotify & AM 500 (currently #355 after mv drop) guess facts don't matter when it comes to favs aye. Ariana's streaming behemoth but this era was majorly airplay driven ,all her singles are overplayed (along with beiber thx to scoot. All reaching b2b top spots) while more deserving tracks which resonated among audience & had streaming traction viz. Streets, good days weren't given squat

The focus for her at least is now Save Your Tears, which could end up being her biggest hit if weβre not careful because Abel has insane longevity powers now. I guess the Circles + BL mixed formula worked and adding Ari to the mix adds an even bigger staying power.

pov still has no music video, and it was never added to today's top hit on spotify after it was announced as a single, so I think the terrible streaming performance is expected. Also the fact that it already went viral before didn't help, either. As for the other two single, I guess the radio audience just loved them more, for those were the only time ariana actually enjoyed radio longevity.

Is going to get an mv at this point? I mean, it doesn't seem likely. Sadly, I don't think so, I've been waiting for a video since the album released Knowing the way that AG does things, she's probably content to let this era end, coast off of the SYT remix, and is probably hard at work on her next album to be released by the end of the year.

It's a Brent Faiyaz collab - I can see it doing good, but closer to Solid than What's Next. Ngl I'm hoping for that #11. If you're in New Zealand, you can listen to the song right now on Apple Music/Spotify or you can search the song's name on Twitter. Several pages have posted a clip of the song. It's 5 minutes long and it doesn't sound like a hit, just a mellow tune. Production is pretty one-note throughout. Brent sings for like the first 3 minutes, Drake comes in with a rap verse right after that and then Brent closes out the song. I think it'll be lucky to peak in the Hot 100 top 40.
