Most of those were demos that weren't officially released so they counted as new releases. One in a Million and other songs have been available for public consumption in some way or another for 25 years.

Arcade, a song that came out in March of 2019, went on to Eurovision, go viral on two years later (thanks to Attack on Titan AMVs of all things), garner 1 billion streams (combining the original and the duet version), has gone Platinum in 9 different countries, and has become one of the biggest sleeper hits of the year. As I said, it's the new Radioactive so get used to hearing it everywhere

Even if this doesn't top the charts or hell, even if it doesn't crack the Top 10, this'll no doubt be one of the most successful hits of the year

as someone who's enjoyed "Arcade" since it was a mere Eurovision candidate in early 2019, the FLETCHER remix is ass. it's such an obviously label-initiated collaboration (both Capitol Records artists), and FLETCHER completely ruins the vibe of the original. glad she's not being credited.

however, something sneaky has been done to combine the play counts of the versions on Spotify, unlike other big hits with remixes (such as "Levitating", "Truth Hurts", "Mood" etc.):

TOTC had fairly accurate data on both Butter and PTD while Winston took wild shots in the dark and said they'd spend a week in the top 3 together. If you wanna go by him that's great but he isn't as reliable as TOTC.
