Disturbia ❤️❤️❤️ Oh and the streams overall were pretty great for Halloween tunes. I wonder how much those songs can increase tomorrow, I’m sure Thriller and Monster Mash are around 1,5M streams each.

i originally thought holiday songs weren't going to do very well this year, especially comparing to the last two but since halloween is making this strong of an impact i'm actually starting to think christmas will be just as dominant

Yeah the October 30th streaming total of "Easy On Me" is actually supposed to be 1,301,383. It appears that dremolus - solarpunk forgot to update the daily streaming total of "Easy On Me".

Ghost is easily my favourite Justin Bieber song that I've heard, hope it becomes a big hit in 2022!

Would be funny if Blinding Lights managed to re-enter with these gains. It's also top 20 on US Apple Music and still has solid airplay

I never considered "Blinding Lights" to be a Halloween themed song, So it surprises me to see this song gain as much streams as it has during these past few days.

Okay I didn't want to get in trouble so legit question: are you still considered non-white if it's your great-great grandfather that's of indigenous descent? I would say no, personally. You'd be white. But I've asked both racist people and SJWs this and SOME of both groups said they'd consider that to be non-white, especially if they looked non-white. Also there's the recent Elizabeth Warren case which was high profile, I think her indigenous ancestor was even further back than that but she seemed to think she counted as a "Person of Color" before, but now after public backlash against her she's been saying she's only white ever since. There's another case with Mariah Carey, where she's probably whiter than she (and most of the public) thinks she is, but she's refused to ever take a DNA test. I think she's worried something similar to Elizabeth Warren will happen to her and she will have to stop being a POC. Kamala Harris is another one too, she obviously and definitely has SOME European ancestry, because her father is actually from Jamaica, not sub-Saharan Africa, but she brands herself as half Indian and half black (i.e. 100% non-white), so a DNA test would likely be a PR nightmare for her too. Iggy Azalea had also claimed on an interview at a radio station that she thinks she has Aboriginal Australian ancestors, which would make her "non-white" to certain people. But if she does at all it's likely very far back now and personally I think at some point it gets laughable to even bring it up. And you've got cases like Logic and Halsey where they're white-passing mixed race people, but they bring it up TOO much (or at least did earlier in their careers), and also imply they're half and half when really they're closer to three-quarters white because their non-white parent is actually mixed race themselves. That got them in trouble and a lot of criticism and mockery. If any of you ever become famous I think it's best not to try and exaggerate your non-white ancestry or try and hide your white ancestry. It's better just to be honest and open about it, and learn to be happy with it. For some people I know there's an element of white shame or white guilt, but when people go around lying about their whiteness and finding every loophole they can to distance themselves from it and try to be a Person of Colour (whether it's Kamala Harris trying to pretend she's 0% white when she's probably about 20% white, whether it's Logic trying to pretend he's 50% white when he's probably more like 75% white, or whether it's Iggy Azalea or Kid Laori trying to invoke the one-drop rule), it can come across as insulting and some twisted form of cultural appropriation, as well as a denial of white privelege quite frankly. Just tell the truth, be honest, and own who you are. Mariah Carey is clearly biracial, and her father is Black. She is not trying to hide from being exposed from anything. That Australian guy is clearly white, and no, having a great-great grandfather who is not white does not negate that. That is the American consensus if people care enough to even investigate it, so I have no idea why people who are not even American are trying to give opinions on it

Halloween Songs:
30( +100) Bobby "Boris" Pickett, The Crypt-Kickers - Monster Mash 494,068 ( +250,087) 31( +63) Michael Jackson - Thriller 488,523 ( +215,312) 34( +9) The Weeknd - Blinding Lights 473,024 ( +75,280) 49( +98) Disney Characters - This is Halloween 422,133 ( +186,343) 54( re-entry) Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters 392,667108( re-entry) Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me 284,404117( re-entry) Andrew Gold - Spooky, Scary Skeletons (Undead Tombstone Remix) 275,985146( re-entry) Rihanna - Disturbia 255,800149( re-entry) Billie Eilish - bad guy 254,368151( re-entry) Stevie Wonder - Superstition 253,678156( re-entry) AC/DC - Highway to Hell 251,199164( re-entry) Britney Spears - Toxic 245,999176( re-entry) Travis Scott - SICKO MODE 238,884200( -1) MGMT - Little Dark Age 228,681 ( +15,270) Interesting, seems like playlisting might be playing a role here. Spotify's "Halloween Party" playlist (the first result when your search for Halloween) has Disturbia, Blinding Lights, Superstition, bad guy, and Sweet Dreams all right near the start. Definitely seems like this is having some impact on the chart.

Some of these Halloween songs are quite interesting. Madonna basically has a Halloween song with Supernatural and of course, hardly touched. #playlisting

On the case of Ed Sheeran, I do think the rollout of this album has been uneventful. There was no purpose for them to drop the lead single that far in advance if the run up to the album release wasn’t going to be monumental. He’s not an artist like Doja Cat or Lil Nas X who get 90% of their numbers from streaming. He’s the type of artist that can still sell albums the old fashion way and that’s what his team should’ve focused on. The rollout to the album should’ve been similar to Adele’s where the lead single drops about a month before the album and then you just do an album bomb. He would’ve sustained more hype this way rather than months going by with 2 singles that didn’t cause enough hype.

If it was on a list it would get played. And if you think I'm comparing it to some Halloween classics, than you're just being ignorant on purpose. Trick or Treat!?

I don’t know where this Better Days song came from but i love this and i’ve been waiting for a song in this sound to come back again. Polo G’s verse reminds me so much of Migos on Slide it just works so well for him.

Question for everyone to settle a dispute I'm having : Which song feels nore like a number 1 hit, Kiss Me More or Bad Habits? Kiss Me More because it actually had a week over 300 points. Plus, you can make an argument that KMM was one of the biggest hits of the spring, summer, and fall of 2021. If only Megan hopped on a remix for KMM, instead of one for Butter…

I've successfully avoided "Bad Habits" upon disliking it on the day it came out. ain't nobody putting on Ed Sheeran at a party lol. but "Kiss Me More" was everywhere this summer/fall, heard it a couple times this weekend while I was out and about.

Kiss Me More is really one of the best hit songs this decade and i love how the longevity in the top 10 also reflects that. I’ve heard Shivers on the radio more times than Bad Habits, which goes to show how quickly the latter faded out to me, and i believe the album’s success did reflect on how this wasn’t the best decision to be a lead single.

I'm actually gonna defend Ed, I think you should give the song a couple more listens. I disregarded it as basic at first but it's actually pretty catchy and the bass goes kinda hard
