It's pretty obvious the track is gonna be Dua's regular Future Nostalgia sound with a Megan verse, I can't really see it being anything else. It'll probably do ok streaming numbers but tear up radio.

I'm a bit surprised that people think of this as an easy #1 song for an artist who regularly flops (Megan) and an artist who has never hit #1 yet (Dua).

I could see it debuting low top 10 ish a la #9. That would automatically make it Megan's third* highest peak and Dua's fifth. Good enough to show some growth for both of them, but not the huge expectations I've seen on Twitter.

*: Fourth if you count "34+35".

this is what I was thinking. 

to me, if the song is good, I could see it performing similarly to "Kiss Me More" in its first couple weeks. Megan is a bit less in demand than Doja Cat and Dua Lipa is a bit more in demand than SZA (in the US), so that kind of evens out the combined anticipation for the project, I think. 

("Kiss Me More" debuted at No. 7, fell to No. 8, then went up to No. 6, to No. 5 in its fourth week.)

that said, "Kiss Me More" is one of the best-performing collaborations of all-time, so I wouldn't hold this to that standard in the long run without hearing the song first.

Don't think he's saying it's not possible, it definitely is, just that it is not guaranteed like a lot of people here are saying. You wouldn't expect an artist who has never hit #1 before to have an easy way there, whereas consistent hitmakers like Drake, Taylor etc you would expect because of their track record

Speaking of Dua… the fact that Levitating is TOP 15 nearly TWO WHOLE YEARS after it’s been released. Wild.

Also if this has any radio pushing and doesn’t go number one, it’s not meant to be for Megan or Dua lmao.

The top 2 number one by default Heat Waves and a soundtrack song on the decline with minimal airplay. Both with under 250 points. Easy W you’d think.

Dua Lipa doesn’t really have huge out of the gate streaming numbers in the US. She is more of a gradual rise. Although that all could change since her last era was very successful. Megan also hasn’t yet proven she’s much of an out of the gate punch either. Of course WAP and Savage Remix where completely different circumstances, but her solo material hasn’t found life in the top 10 yet. With that being said, this isn’t a solo song so there’s going to be a lot of curiosity streams. I see it debuting in the Top 5 most likely. And if it’s really good I can see it having a similar run to “Kiss Me More.”

Excited for the Dua/Meghan collab. Hopefully the music video is released right away. If so I could see it challenging for the top spot. If it goes top 2, that would be Meghan's 4th female collab to hit the top 2. The most of any female artist?

Yes, that is precisely what I am saying.  People in here are acting, even in a time when the #1 is notoriously weak, that such a song is a guaranteed #1 smash when neither artist has had that kind of effect.  Obviously, we'll see need to see what kind of streaming numbers we see for it when it is released, but let's not act as if it is an automatic coronation and then be upset if its immediate response is more subdued.
