At the end of the day if I want to buy 75 copies of my favorite artist's album I'm gonna do it, because it's my business. Multiple variants or not, I did the same thing back in the day for my favorites too when there weren't variants, and I'd give them out for birthdays/holidays/good gestures.. years ago I gave a good friend of mine a copy of 1989 after I bought it like 6 times, and he's one of the biggest Swifties now that I've ever come across. The multiple variants just make it better for people who support their artists.

I havent purchased one variant and never will. However, I think it is a smart tactic to increase sales.
For the people in the back, no one is forcing you to buy the variants.
For instance, I never buy the Target copies, and those always have bonus songs on them. Nonetheless, she will eventually release them to everyone, and that is okay by me.
Also, no one cares about a number 1 album only chart lurkers, the fans, and the artist. If she blocks, she blocks. People having a nervous breakdown because their fav doesn't hit number one.

This bootleg remix won't be for everyone, especially since it's stylistically a throwback to a different era of club remixes; but I'm loving this club mix of 'Fortnight'.
Thanks for sharing that! This is very Peter Rauhofer/Sal Dano/Eddie Baez in its style. I have liked the number of Jasmin’s remixes of Madonna during her last album era. This works well.

Lol I am just catching up. She dropped new digital variants of the album and the addition was... one 'phone memo' each? So a draft of a song. And, yet again, you have to get every one to own them all? We've really moved into quantity over quality. How money hungry can you get? It's never enough.

This is hella random, but is there any remixer who reimagines songs in that they give the song a completely new production but still make it viable for radio? Like a song if you hadn't heard before you wouldn't even assume is a remix? Am I making sense? lol Think how JLO and her team remixed "Ain't It Funny" and "I'm Real". I'm not huge on the traditional remix, but I love a song being reimagined.

Billie called "her" out with the excessive vinyl variants and Taylor fought back with digital only variants. Genius LOL
I am well aware Billie also said she was NOT talking about Taylor as she herself had variants but it was about trying to reduce waste in the environment, etc. So Taylor did that as well and just did digital only versions the week of her release. It can't be a coincidence lol

Nice shout out to Max Martin on the Eras tour. Would love to see what those two could do together even if it was two or three songs.
Would love something different from them like when Kelly Clarkson tried a pop rock approach instead of the typical bubblegum pop.

She's already worked with Max....though I would LOVE for them to work together again on the next album!

I really wish he was involved in the TVs. I know there was chatter when Red landed about the potential reasons why not, just seems so odd when Taylor's singles are among his biggest hits. He strikes me as more of an oversight and editor though as far as actual production goes (like you can tell a Dr Luke from a Shellback from an Ilya), so maybe it's unnecessary.

Shellback not Max did most of the actual production from taylor's making of videos. And shellback also seemed disinterested in the project after working on wildest dreams. Shellback and Max's production work is fundamentally creative. Trying to perfectly replicate their past work isn't creative but instead more of a tedious, craftsmen job. It's perfectly understandable if they would rather work on new work or Taylor wouldn't want to pay high dollar for them to try to find the correct mike and room setup to perfectly imitate the og version. Nothing odd about it. It's telling that the main producer of the rerecordings Christopher Rowe basically only produced live recording for Taylor before working the TVs. It just an entirely different task than ordinary production work.

Is it crazy that I want TS13 to be entirely written and produced by Taylor. Even if it’s just an acoustic album with her playing the piano and guitar, I think she has it in her. All these “making of” videos proves that she basically brings a finished product to the producers, and they just add all the bells and whistles to it.

This was supposed to ship on May 31, but it’s instead being shipped this week. It’s just sad at this point.

Am I the only one who doesn’t think “i can do it with a broken heart” should be a single ever? It’s like, yeah it’s an upbeat poppier song and radio-friendly because of that, but it also feels like the type of song that would rub non-fans the wrong way, or just be annoying. A song can be a fan favourite while also being something that just won’t click for non-fans. “Guilty As Sin” is the right single choice. Maybe even “Down Bad” if they want something edgier.

I agree it should not be a single. It's the casuals who want it as a single. The correct single choice is Down Bad, So High Scool, imgonnagethimback or Guilty As Sin?

I honestly agree with the first part. At first, I heard a hit, but since then it feels more TikTok/viral and fan favorite than radio single. It is a fun live number, but I don't know that it makes sense on radio or a huge video treatment. I don't really think "Guilty as Sin" is a single though . I'd rather see "Down Bad" or "My Boy Only Breaks..." ("So High School" if Anthology songs are on the table).

Yeah I genuinely do not understand where or how "Guilty As Sin?" would work as a single. If some thought "Fortnight" is "too slow" for radio, "GAS?" definitely isn't any more uptempo, that's for sure.
"Down Bad", "ICDIWABH" or even the title track, despite a few awkward lyrics, could work as singles, imo.

We've only just stopped getting "Karma is a Cat" thrown at us fans as an insult/dig at her lyricism, please do not unleash the TTPD title track to the general public or we'll never hear the end of it.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I have a feeling MOST (not all) of people who have ICDIWABH as one of their favorites or favorite from TTPD, chose it only because it stands out from the rest and it's upbeat. The song is okay, nothing special imo, especially when you know she's capable of much better when it comes to upbeat stuff.

Team "Down Bad" followed by "Guilty As Sin?" here! Also vote to pull the plug on "Fortnight" and move on.
"Down Bad" was the only thing that stood out to me on first listen and has consistently been what's been stuck in my head since the album dropped.
"Guilty As Sin?" was a grower for me but that chorus is so infectious and is just meant to be a summer slow jam that you roll around town with the windows down to. It gives me "Wildest Dreams" vibes in that regard.
Wholeheartedly agree about "Broken Heart" being a quick burn and people only gravitating toward it because it's the most uptempo song in a sea of slower songs. Great song for TikTok and tour, but it doesn't scream radio single to me. I'm sure it'll do fine if it does get picked, but I don't think it's a guaranteed smash. I'd be okay with "So High School" or "My Boy" could be a good 3rd single instead if they don't do GAS or ICDIWABH. But please lord let "Down Bad" be the next single and also keep TTPD away from radio.

I think “guilty as sin” sounds closer to old-school Taylor than anything else on the album and has a catchy chorus without being too in-your-face, so it would be a hit on AC for sure. The biggest thing against it is that it would easily get lost in the shuffle since it wouldn’t exactly be a standout, but I think it’s otherwise a pleasant song so I’d vote it for third single.

Guilty As Sin as a single in July for a late summer (in Ireland lol) sultry slow burner. Down Bad as the moody and slow autumn hit. So High School as the cheery, poppy spring single
