Show me a person who does not like Christina's latest single and I'll show you a uniquely barren, soulless subhuman monster. Show me a person who does not like "The Voice Within" and I'll show you the kind of person who would bury a kitten up to its head and then run over it with a lawn mower. hmmm... what????? if i don't "like" the song, i'm a monster??? ya ok there! What kind of person does not like "The Voice Within?" The answer is simple: no sort of human being at all. how about those don't like Christina, like those that don't like Briteny... some people get annoyed by artists (and in most cases their fans) so they don't like the songs by the artist, it's not rocket science Clearly you and your mother are the ones who need psychiatric help! wow, attacking someone's mother... you know how f'ed up that makes you sound???? yikes, get over yourself yo

Wasn't her debut CD and everything she said in interviews during the promotion of the first CD fake? Isn't that what the whole 'Stripped' project was all about?! She has said she didn't like the first album. "Stripped" is a album that she made with all the control she wanted.

It's #82 and +180 at pop right now. It goes for adds on Tuesday, so it's not bad, but we'll see what happens. Like I said in another topic, I'm guessing at least 80 of those spins came from Carson Daly's Most Requested. But yeah, airplay for it is building up nonetheless. Anyway, I think some people wouldn't recognize hyperbole even if it came up to them and slapped them across both cheeks.

She has said she didn't like the first album. "Stripped" is a album that she made with all the control she wanted. There's a difference between not liking an album and acting totally different. In interviews during the promotion of the first CD, Christina was all sweet and teeny boppy and all that sorta stuff. radiosucks told me that it was all an act based on what the record company wanted her to do. She acts different now than she does then so there's more than simply not liking the first album.

Christina was trying to act all sweet and innocent on her first album, but it was very obvious, from those who liked her and followed every step of her career that she wasn't happy with anyting. From the getgo Christina was always saying how she didn't want "Genie In A Bottle"as her first single and how the record company told her to hold back on her ad libs and to sing teen pop music for now. You can so tell that the more singles that passed, the more she took control. Even if it was like little things like having red and blue streaks in her hair or demanding remixes on "What A Girl Wants" and "Come On Over Baby," you could really tell that she was progressing into her own artist. And then being the only female who was even open to criticising Eminem and his lyrics while the others who were offended didn't say a thing and instead held back. Even in the middle of her whole debut album she was on the cover of Rollingstone and the article inside of it was a glimpse of what was to come. The way she behaved in the magazine and how she kept going on and on about how things were going to change, it was pretty obvious by the time "Come On Over Baby" was released that Christina was not your average teen pop star. I still don't understand why people were shocked by her Stripped" era, because if you really knew her, you saw that stuff comming from a mile away and if you were just a regular average listener who was fooled into thinking that Christina as nothing but another Britney, then you had a hard time accepting the new Christina. That's how i see it.
I am going to try and find a link of her first rollingstone article and show you how it seems like that article was written in 2003 rather than 2000.

I still can't believe Can't Hold Us Down did as well as it did. Wow. That has to be the worst song to reach such a high position...
...now that I've said that, I will be bombarded with awful CHR/Pop #1's...
Heheh. Anyway, "The Voice Within" is a pretty good ballad, though still just that, a ballad, so I don't see it going Top 5. Maybe #10 though, if she's lucky, though I doubt it will go that far.

In my opinion all of the singles off of "Stripped" have been surprises, except maybe "Fighter". "Dirrty" was a surprise but in a different way, so hopefully TVWI will continue to surprise.

The only Stripped single in which my expectations ended up happening was "Fighter". The others I either overpredicted or underpredicted. I still think this'll be a steady climber into the top 20, but not make top 10.

Yeah I noticed that...there's 2 "The Voice Within" songs charting. I don't get it.

Well on Mediabase on Carson's Most Requested, many songs are listed twice. I'd be mad if worked for a radio station and found out my station's spins counted separately and weren't helping songs.

This song got an incredible 95 adds this week at CHR/Pop!
All this needs is some dance remixes to help at it dance leaning rhythmic stations, and she'll have another smash on her hands.

I'm amazed it got so many adds to say it's a fifth single. It's well deserved, "The Voice Within" is a great song which will hopefully do well for that reason. :)

Just because it got many adds doesn't mean it will do to well. I think people and radio stations will have a hard time catching on to this one. Although, I would have thought the same for "Beautiful."

Just because it got many adds doesn't mean it will do to well. Of course, but it's better to get 95 adds than 0, right? :)

I can't believe anyone ever doubted that Beautiful would be a huge hit. It was just a perfect pop song...and her most widely appealing song to date.
This one nowhere near as much. I think it will slowly struggle into the top 20 then slowly decline. not at all bad for a 5th single. all those adds are very encouraging.

I'm really surprised by the adds too, I wasn't expecting it at all for this song.. not for a 5th single, and not for a song like this.. maybe I should think about raising my hopes for the song lol

I thought it was cheesy, boring, and followed up a #14 hit. So, yeah, I doubted it would be a hit.

The more adds the better. This will help the song chart even better. This is just what I have been expecting from this song.

Well 95 adds is quite a shocker. Congratulations goes to Christina and the song.
I can't help but think that RCA is digging themselves deeper and deeper into a shithole due to her airplay. They payola one song, and then when it becomes a radio hit, everyone expects them to release a follow-up, so they do so. And to save the follow-up from flopping, they have to payola it too, and once that becomes another hit, everyone expects another follow-up, especially the crazed fans who want all the tracks released as singles. And that follow-up gets payolaed too, which forces them to release another single because if they don't, then people will think that the last single was payolaed. This will continue to happen until one day they wake up and realize "Where did our budget for the entire decade go?!"
Haha just kidding! Well, maybe only a little bit. It's just strange that many other artists can sell more albums without 5 big pop hits, and that all other artists who have 4 Top 20 pop hits all sell a lot more, except for Justin Timberlake and Pink. And a lot of people accuse songs from those two of receiving payola boosts too. If you look at the last two artists who had 4 Top 20 pop hits (Avril and Eminem), they both sold a lot more albums.
