That and there's no way it will have sold that many copies worldwide a month before release date. lol. I think it was probably either a joke or someone forgot to edit the info under that album when they copied/pasted the stuff from 'Breakaway'.

Some of you people are looking WAY too much into this whole topic and situation and all of the little sidestories that are going with it. Go outside, take a breather for a few hours and then come back in and resume. great idea!

i am hoping Hole or Maybe becomes the next single it looks like RCA is fighting for one minute because it is the most radio friendly >:O (im new... i post on the KCE a lot) It might be better if the one RCA wants wins this time around. At least we know they'll support it and if it IS the most radio-friendly, it'll silence some of the flop buzz. It's not like she isn't going to get more singles after this.

you people are funny.....they label invested money into this era and wouldn't do anything to hurt it's success. All record labels are in the red and wouldn't just throw money away like that since they have to answer to the shareholders. this conspiracy theories are all a load of crap....Clive doesn't own RCA i think it's convinient for most kelly fans to blame NA failure on RCA. cuz in their eyes kelly can do no wrong and will go to #1 everytime, without lookin at the fact how good/bad of single NA is.

Ugh, looking at that bullet is depressing. I really don't think this song has much more life to it on radio. I love the song, but it's too much of a grower for most people to become a hit on radio, IMO.
Well on to the next single!!

pyrates, that is my major gripe with pop radio. I tend to like the 'growers' the best. I get tired very quickly of the catchy stuff.

KELLY CLARKSON Never Again -127
I can't believe it... I thought it would do better than this. Hopefully her next single will be more radio friendly. Good songs and radio friendly don't always meet....

sorry dr.luke but I remember your predictions of total failure for this song (or was that wishes for total failure?) so excuse me when I give you a when you say "you thought it would do better than this. according to radio & Records she's up to #20 and though her bullet is only +66 she's still in the positive and moved up two spots on their chart. as evidenced by some of the crap currently at the top of the charts on radio right now.... Personally I hope NONE of her songs are "radio friendly" if radio friendly means crap like Glamorous, GF, Sweet Escape, I'm Hot, and a myraid of other brainless crap that's filling the airwaves right now..... personally, I barely listen to radio, only on the drive to and from work, so IMO as long as Kelly's happy with the songs and they allow her to grow artistically who cares. She's already had an album that had 5 singles released that went top 10 (several that went to #1 on one chart or another and multiple for a couple) and sold almost 6 million in the US and 11 million world wide....that's something that most artists only dream of doing, so for me if Kelly just wanted to do music that fulfills her as an artist from now on, I'd still be a fan and I'd still go see her in concert and I'd still buy her CDs.

^did you not even read his post? That's so ignorant for you to attack him as always and try to stir up drama. Go back and read it and see how you made a complete fool of yourself. Its just immaturity. So grow up. We are discussing the song, we all are. That includes more than friends, its people so get used to it.

Guys don't worry about Kelly . This album will be multi platinum before it's all said and done .Don't panic just because radio isn't into it all that much right now . I for one love the song . IMO it's the best single she's ever had . I know a lot will disagree with me on that . When I heard it I was like "hell yeah !!" Rock on Kelly . She's making the music she wants to make , and I respect her for it .

I really think they should have kept the July release date, and rush released a second single. At this rate, its gonna be tough for NA to have over 15 million total audience impressions by the time the album comes out..it could still have a big first week, but the 2nd, and 3rd, etc. are gonna be rough if they dont do something And I know a lot of you dont care about the commercial success of this album, and thats cool. But you guys need to look at reality too...when an album is commercially successful it affords the artist more opportunities for artistic expresion (more videos, etc)..and probably most importantly, it gives them more weight and credability when fighting for what they want with record labels in the future. The reason that Kelly was in the end able to put out exactly the album she wanted to this time around, even though it took a lot of fighting and there were many issues, is because of how succesful Breakaway was. If My December ends up being a commercial failure...she will not have the same weight, and it is very possible that no matter how much she fights for she wants on the next album, RCA will just not let her put out until they are happy with it...in the end, this is a business for them, and they do not want to lose money by pooring their money into projects that are not profitable for them. So i understand, and respect you guys opinion that commercial success is not what is important...but in the end, it does matter in some very important ways.

I wondered for a second..lol.
That's a shame about Chantal's song. I love it. What the hell's wrong with radio when they won't play a great song like that. She looks gorgeous in the video too. Oh well. I hope it picks up.

So i don't understand what's going on...are people finally admitting that this flopped or are they trying to put a positive twist to it? No matter how you try to make it seem, this single is by far the biggest flop frist single released by an established Female artist since 'Loverboy'.
I don't care if people say 'Loverboy' peaked at #2 and 'Never Again' peaked at #8 on the Hot 100 so they are hits. That doesn't mean anything. Spending one week in the top ten just because of hype and then falling really fast and getting weak airplay equals a flop. First singles by established female artists flopping has been a hot trend since 'Dirrty'. I think with Mariah people were surprised that it happened but it wasn't really shocking because she had been around for a long time. Christina Aguilera was really the first one to start the 'hot mess flop first single' trend. When it happened to 'Dirrty' people were shocked, but then 'Me Against the Music' 'Don't Tell Me' 'Deja Vu' 'It's Like That' 'Wind It Up' 'Trouble' and so many others flopped, it became a trend to have a flop first single. But things began changing last year when 'Promiscious' 'Ain't No Other Man' and now 'Girlfriend' became big hits. So i think people expected 'Never Again' to go into that route because the 1st single flopping thing was kind of not happening anymore. But i guess not.

You know - I think that most people base their expectations and opinions on the particular song - not on the trends of previous artists - but that is just me.

Crustina aint start no trend. What about Britneys Slave? That was a first single flop. Britney wasn't really a radio favorite to have a FLOP first single. It wasn't shocking at all. At that point in her career she really didn't need radio at all. 'Dirrty' flopping was by far more shocking. And the reason why i including 'Me Against the Music' on this list was because it had Madonna on it and it was shocking that it didn't go top ten.

yea, but all of your facts are out of order. Its just random songs listed not even in the order they came out and you are trying to make logic from it.

But Dr. Luke has a point. When someone says they think a first single by a female artist who prior to this had 5 TOP 5 radio hits off her last album, when they say they think it will flop...that could mean a peak anywhere from #11 to #20. But peaking outside the Top 20...that's even worse! No one expected this...even the people who predicted it would flop. I predicted it would flop but i predicted around #15...not this. I think that's what he means.
