Limbaugh's only sizable competition is Glenn Beck. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus Sean Hannity does double Beck's daily radio audience, 18 million to 9 million. There's about a million angry white conservative talk show hosts. The competition is unreal. Monopoly means no competition is even being offered. Eminem has a completely free lane. You're right that I forgot Sean Hannity. Still, it doesn't diminish the point I've made about Limbaugh. Limbaugh's power and prominence can be summed up, in fact, in an Eminem single title.............."We Made You". Limbaugh made Hannity and all the rest on AM radio. AM radio very likely wouldn't even exist today if not for Limbaugh. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

-- 37 SIA JIVE/RED 10,514 -- WE ARE BORN What a travesty. It's a brilliant album. Easily top5 in 2010 in my book. Absolutely agreed. Definitely top 5. And probably even number 1 in terms of strictly Pop albums. It's so sad to see shit like Miley Cyrus's new album do over 100k, and this pop masterpiece go unnoticed. :shakingandcrying:

I thought that main difference between HDD and Sound Scan is that HDD does not include digital sales? So how can It happen that billboard shows smaller numbers than HDD?

The Fame probably won't have another week in the top 10.

The Fame probably won't have another week in the top 10. Disagree. Once awards season comes around again it will be in the Top 10 for sure

Who says what HDD does has anything at all to do with Soundscan? 2 different tracking systems are likely going to yield two different answers.

-- 3 MILEY CYRUS HOLLYWOOD 106,553 -- CAN'T BE TAMED 11 20 CHRISTINA AGUILERA RCA/RMG 19,307 -47% BIONIC I will boldly predict that by the end of the year, Bionic will have outsold Can't Be Tamed. Christina won't even go gold (Cyrus neither). Both will exit the B200 chart at around 300-350k Pitiful sales for both, but specially Christina.

Eminem is a fantastically talented, massive artist, who released a fantastic album that is both commercially viable and artistically sound. He nailed the winning formula that's why we're seeing these numbers.

You could have saved yourself some time and simply said he's still big because he made a legitimate cultural AND musical impact earlier in his career. Reading's hard, isn't it? Don't even try it.

Both are (relatively) weak sales debuts for X-Tina and Miley but there's really no knowing in whether or not if either album will rebound or be a consistent seller down the road for the next 6-12 months. Miley's EP went off to a slow start but ended up selling by the bucketload by Christmas season... and Christina could always get a hit out of the second or third pop singles. Let's see

Xtina has sold in three weeks what Mimi sold in one :'(. And imagine that Memoirs has been called a flop time after time... what does this make Bionic? :O :O @ Eminem. I think this will actually be the first album of his I will purchase. Great for Sarah! Well to be honest, MOIA was not a chart/sales success- she had a top 10 medium size platinum seller hit with 'obsessed' tons of promo and coming off E=M2 which sold around 1.8mil- the only reason why MOIA is scanning close to 500k now is because she and her label have had it on s ale at $9.99 for weeks now and still advertises it in best Buy and the like- can't say I blame them but MOIA was a disappointment If Mariah scans 500k next album, I will consider that good for her because as an artist ages past 40, for the most part its hard for them to get airplay on US radio. Bionic- 3 wks ~170k sold- we all not that it is past a disappointment- I won't say the word but u said it. If U Lost Me doesn't do anything, I would pull the plug on Bionic- wasted resources- try to save the era with Burlesque and send her back to the studio for a new album in a year

If U Lost Me doesn't do anything, I would pull the plug on Bionic- wasted resources- try to save the era with Burlesque and send her back to the studio for a new album in a year I've been saying that for years now, that mainstream pop/R&B radio is slowly turning away female artists who hit 40. Should it be any surprise why Whitney flopped, aside from the fact that she waited too long to put out new material? Should be any surprise why Janet is on a slow march toward oblivion, and should take advantage of moving back to acting full-time? Now it's Mariah's turn, 20 years after her debut. I'm almost afraid to think that Mary J. will soon suffer the fate of being pushed off the R&B airwaves. I would add Erykah Badu as well, because they're both 39. Worse yet, if any female artist is having trouble scoring hit singles and/or albums before the age of 30, her days are almost certainly numbered, because the industry is already looking for someone to replace her.
