You know, I have a question. Did you hear Rob on NY & Florida radio last Thursday and Friday? On both they played his other new song "This is How a Heart Breaks". Does anyone else think it is kind of odd that Rob is out promoting his new CD so early before its release date. AND actually playing what could be the 2nd single release on select radio stations before the album is even released. Rob did say on the NY station that he was out on radio last week because radio has just embraced LNM so quickly. Is this unprecendented or can you remember other such instances? The playing of the other song just seems so unusual to me. IMO, they showcased TIHAHB in the radio interviews, because many people didn't seem to take to LNM. Maybe they wanted people to know that not all of the songs on the album were as poppy as LNM. I'm really surprised that LNM has slowed down so much. I guess we'll just have to see if the video (whenever they decide to put it out) helps the song any. I'm beginning to think that they released LNM about 3 weeks too soon. Of course, Atlantic may not have anticipated it taking off so quickly and then staling. I have always thought that the MB20 singles have been fairly slow gainers (with the exception of Unwell). M5 is on tour and I guess their song is being used to promote the shows. However, it's still their 4th single. I

Rob has finally moved up to #2 but is a little under 1000 spins from Green Day. I don't know if he'll make it to #1 or not because it is highly possible that Kelly Clarkson will pass him in a few weeks. At least, Maroon5 is finally dropping.
Keep watching the charts to see what might happen when the video for LNM comes out tomorrow and the album release date grows nearer.

If Rob can anyone can!!!

Kelly Clarkson could slow down before she gets to #1 too. I think she will slow down, too.

Does LNM have a chance at #1? Kelly Clarkson doesn't seem to be overtaking Rob and Green Day is slowly dropping. What do you think?

It would have to maintain those gains for another month to have a shot at #1 (or hope for sudden large losses for Green Day). Given its accelerating losses on pop, it doesn't look overly promising, but the song does have a chance at sneaking into #1.

I am amazed at how much MB20/Rob that my Hot AC station plays. Today I heard Disease, Real World and LNM twice as I listened all day at work. They still play Unwell & Bright Lights a lot too. It got me wondering if the staying power of MB20's older singles will hold down the spins of Rob's newer stuff on Hot AC. There's only so much of the same guy you can play in a day. What do you think?

I will openly admit it, but I NEVER thought Rob's album would debut at #1. That's a wonderful thing, and shockingly good and scary!
I'm sure you all have also read, that Rob also broke a record, for being the first male artist from a pop/rock group to go solo and have the album debut at #1, on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.
Lastly, but not least "Underestimate Rob Thomas at your own peril".

It's like saying XYZ is the first double CD with bonus DVD by a solo white male artist from Africa to hit #1. How many others have their been?

Well, every other artist gets a mention when any kind of record is broken by Billboard. It's about time Rob got some good news. BTW, I think there are probably several male legends who left bands and obviously didn't debut #1. Now, that's not to say that didn't sell more in their first week, but then again, that's not what the article said.

So Rob should be hitting +4000 spins tomorrow. Very few songs match the +4000 status. I know Unwell may have the record unless it was broken by Green Day this past winter....anyone have any idea for the other songs in the +4000 club?

I believe the most recent one before BOBD was Maroon 5's She Will Be Loved. Goo Goo Dolls also came darn close for a while... EDIT: I am talking about the R&R panel, not the a2M Mediabase chart. It doesn't look like Rob will hit 4000 spins on the R&R panel.

It's going to be Rob, Anna, and Green Day in the Top 3 for a while once Spring rolls around. Anna Nalick? In the top 3? I'll see it when I believe it. LOL... it looks like it might actually happen now. I'm shocked too though.

But she's bulletless at #6. I hope she can reach at least #5 though.
