"Good Time" (you misspelt her name though) Thanks, I've been mispelling her name in every entry so far. Your formatting of this chart is so clean and lovely. I could and will never. Not here for about half these songs but I enjoy reading (or skimming) about them anyway! Thank you! I appreciate it. :) OMG! "Stupid Hoe" is a hilarious song! So good. "Good Time"! And, yes. 100% true with "Nobody's Business." Love the song, though. "Masquerade" is a great song! Glad you discovered it through the commercials. The entire album is great. Yes it is! It's one of my favourites of the year. Masquerade somehow didn't download for me with the album and I didn't realize I was missing the track until I heard the commercial. Thank you everyone for commenting. <3 I'll start typing up the top 50 after I post this.

| "Don't wanna break your heart/I wanna give your heart a break". So simple, yet so brilliant. The song is pure pop, yet it has a mature theme to it. The violins in this are unique, and Demi has a great voice. I can't tell you how many times I've tried and failed at belting that last note in the bridge, lol.
Date Added: 2012/06/30 | | I really like the theme of the song. The song is about getting revenge on her alcoholic abusive dad, by not warning him about the approaching tornado, and hiding in the cellar by herself, waiting for the tornado to come and make all the bad memories disappear. My favourite line has to be "Every tear-soaked whiskey memory blown away", it feels very personal, if that makes sense. The song reminds me of those creepy evil children who you see sometimes in memes.
Date Added: 2012/04/29 | | Rihanna has such a beautiful, soothing voice, and it shows in this song. I've always liked rap songs with meaning, like this one. It's also interesting to hear him switch between rapping and singing. The instrumental is simple, yet it works at giving it that depressive feel. I wish Rihanna and Drake would have gotten together, they have great chemistry. He'd be much better for her than Chris.
Date Added: 2012/01/21 | | I'd liked a couple Bieber songs before, but never enough to download. That is, until this... I couldn't resist. The song features incredible, fresh production by Zedd, matured vocals by Bieber, a catchy hook and an infectious rap bridge by one of my favourite artists of the year. If I'd added this earlier, it could have possibly gotten a top 25 ranking. Oh, and the video for this is one of my favourites of the year! The whole release strategy was very clever.
Date Added: 2012/11/17 | | Yet another sample of a cover... Yet another great song. The distorted vocals on the chorus are polarizing at first, but you get used to it after a few listens, and then end up loving it later. The rest of the song isn't too original, Flo Rida raps about the same things he always does, but I really love the production; the pianos in the verse and the dubstepish elements in the chorus.

Should be lower, but I'll deal with it. #49 - Carrie Underwood - Blown AwayI really like the theme of the song. The song is about getting revenge on her alcoholic abusive dad, by not warning him about the approaching tornado, and hiding in the cellar by herself, waiting for the tornado to come and make all the bad memories disappear. Great song. And thank you for explaining to me what it's about. Growing on me. Meh.

| #45 - Zedd - Spectrum (feat. Matthew Koma) The production on this is fire. It's so euphoric and fresh and clean and idk how to describe it. It also has a nostalgic feeling to it because some parts remind me of the racing music from one of my old Xbox games back when I was little (Sega GT 2002). I was really surprised to find out that the vocals on this song are by a guy. I seriously with no doubt in my mind, thought it was a girl. I only discovered this the last 1-2 weeks of 2012, so you can imagine how much I love it if it's this high.
Date Added: 2012/12/16 | | Alternative and... Dubstep? A strange mixture, but damn, it works. Unlike most dubstep songs, Too Close features soulful vocals, and actual meaning, which makes it stand out for me. It uses a similar approach as I Knew You Were Trouble, by using dubstep to elevate an otherwise dull song. When that chorus explodes in, I can't sit still.
Date Added: 2012/09/03 | | I first heard this in the recommended section of a Billboard Goddess video. Idk if that's lame or not but I regularly find music there. So, I saw the clip and... I swear I've never been more creeped out by a song before. Her deep demonish voice, her drugged up look, her weird facial expressions, the dark empty mansion... I immediately blacklisted it, but the chorus wouldn't get out of my head, so I ended up downloading it a week later and I didn't regret it! This song and the entire Electra Heart album is amazing, go get it.
Date Added: 2012/05/07 | | #42 - David Guetta - Titanium (feat. Sia) When Nothing But The Beat first came out, I thought this was vastly overrated. I originally hated the the part after the chorus, it seemed chopped up and annoyed me. I don't know why, but I suddenly fell in love with it when 2012 came. Despite that, it still has a nice chunk of it's plays cut off, considering it was released in September. If I counted the 2011 plays, this would be in the top 20. My mom also really likes this song and we sing it together a lot randomly. :P Though I don't know a lot of the lyrics due to her accent.
Date Added: 2011/09/19 | | #41 - Calvin Harris - Let's Go (feat. Ne-Yo) I saw a post somewhere on Pulse, where someone said this was "radio filler". I agree to a certain extent. It's nothing new, and it's pretty lifeless, but I think out of all of 18 Months, this replicates the feel of We Found Love the best. I originally downloaded a demo/unfinished version of this the week it came out, and didn't realize there was a new version until months later when it was in that soccer commercial.

Thank you everyone for commenting and taking the time to read/skim it so far! :'( Great song. And thank you for explaining to me what it's about.I think the theme is interesting so I tried to summarize it to maybe get somebody interested who otherwise wouldn't listen to it because it's Carrie/Country or they're lazy. I know you and many others already know what it's about. Spectrum, Too Close, Titanium, Let's Go! Omg Zedd! Have you checked out his album? You must. We've already talked about our favourite tracks in the Mafia thread. Shows how much you pay attention to our conversations. But yes it's perfect.

| #05 - David Guetta
This year David Guetta released Nothing But The Beat 2.0, which is a rerelease of his 5th album, released last September. I don't like it that much, She Wolf is amazing, and Play Hard is pretty good, but otherwise most of his plays are from Titanium and Turn Me On, which is higher up on the chart. In terms of recurrent plays, he performed decently with Who's That Chick, Memories and Gettin'Over You being the most prominen. | | #04 - Ke$ha
Ke$ha... She was my #1 artist of 2010, with Animal being my #1 album and Tik Tok/Take It Off being my #1/#3 songs. Then she came out with Cannibal which had similar success and got her two more mega smashes. My thirst for new Ke$ha was building for 2 years... It felt like an eternity, especially with her constanty tweeting about how well the album was coming along. Finally, she released Warrior less than a month before 2012's tracking period ended, and coupled with the lead single, it got her enough plays for this #4 ranking. It's the best album of the year, for sure. She writes the most amazing hooks, coupled with her unique white girl rapping and great (though generic at times) production. Every song could be a single. Get it if you haven't. Get the deluxe. Also, get Deconstructed!!! | | #03 - Calvin Harris
I'd heard of him before in 2009 when he released Ready For The Weekend, and he also had a minor hit with Bounce, (#100 on last year's Year End Chart). I actually didn't know this until this year, but he also produced my favourite Kylie Minogue song, In My Arms. So anyway, after We Found Love came out (#1 song of 2011), he started releasing perfection. Every single he put out was solid, and even though we had to wait all the way until November for 18 Months to come out, it was well worth the wait. The previously mentioned Ellie Goulding assisted I Need Your Love stands out as the best album track, though there aren't many considering half the album had been released as a single before it even came out. School and Iron are also strong album tracks. | | #02 - Nicki Minaj
I liked a few Nicki songs last year, and she had some good features, but I didn't really become a fan until this year. I know Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up / Part 2 #4thebarbzis pretty generic... But I guess I like generic stuff. The first half is decent, with standouts being Roman Holiday, Beez In The Trap and HOV Lane, but I absolutely love the second half. Starships, Pound The Alarm, Va Va Voom, Whip It, Masquerade and Automatic are all great dance songs. Even the generally hated tracks like Stupid Hoe and The Boys are so bad that they're good. I'm pretty pressed that she's been bent on ruining her career this year, but as long as the music stays good, it's fine. Her features on Turn Me On and Give Me All Your Luvin also raised her score by quite a bit. | | #01 - Rihanna
Rihanna has been a monster on my chart since Loud came out. She had great success before, but since then she's had smash after smash, being my #2 artist last year. This year, with no Britney to stop her, she finally stole the crown. It's not even close. She has insane recurrent play; We Found Love would be #3 this year if it was eligible... And that's after it was already #1 last year. Talk that Talk has plenty of great songs on it; We Found Love, Birthday Cake, Cockiness, the title track, etc and she was already headed to being #1, when she released Unapologetic, then she basically obliterated everyone. What Now, Right Now, Diamonds, Jump, Nobody's Business, and Lost In Paradise are my favourite tracks. |

Songs: "Spectrum", "Too Close", "Titanium" and "Let's Go". Regarding "Let's Go": I saw a post somewhere on Pulse, where someone said this was "radio filler". I agree to a certain extent. It's nothing new, and it's pretty lifeless, but I think out of all of 18 Months, this replicates the feel of We Found Love the best. Although I don't like "Let's Go", I don't consider it as a 'radio filler'. However, I agree with your point. "Let's Go" is a reminiscent (or as someone call it: the male version) of "We Found Love". Artists: Ke$ha, Calvin Harris (Yay!) and Rihanna. I like David Guetta and Nicki Minaj too, but not as much as the formers. Regarding your commentary for Calvin Harris: I'd heard of him before in 2009 when he released Ready For The WeekendYay! Personally, I think Ready for the Weekend is his best album to date. I love 18 Months too, but if I have to pick one, I will choose the former. Every single he put out was solid, and even though we had to wait all the way until November for 18 Months to come out, it was well worth the wait. I totally agree with you, Codex! School and Iron are also strong album tracks. THIS! As I told you before, he should do an extended version of "School". It would be everything. "Iron", on the other side, is amazing as well. His vocals are awesome and the production he shares with Nicky Romero is insane. Regarding your commentary for Rihanna: We Found Love would be #3 this year if it was eligible... :( You could reverse the credits, as Calvin Harris f/Rihanna, so it could be eligible ;)

Three pop girls and a pair of DJs for the airplay win, eh? It's like living in a dance party. Nice picks.

| This was originally an interlude on Talk that Talk. Such a tease! It was one of the best songs, and I abused that 90 second clip so much that this would be around #20-25 if I added 2011 plays. The Chris Brown extended version gave the song some extra flavor, and they have great chemistry. Like I said on Cockiness, I love raunchy Rihanna, and she goes in with this song. So kinky, I mean "Put a candle on my motherfucking back baby blow it"? Damn. I absolutely love the cake=pussy metaphore and also the Bad Romance-like winding synths. They make the song sound very mysterious and eerily sexy.
Date Added: 2011/11/13 + (2012/02/22) | | Another somewhat sexual song. Her voice reminds me a lot of Britney so this song helped fill the void while she was gone. The song is also very relatable. "'Cause she's prettier than I'll ever be/Got yourself a beauty queen, yeah/But there's one thing I gotta say/She can fuck you good, but I can fuck you betta" <-- it can be interpreted as a gay guy trying to convince a straight guy to leave his girlfriend and turn gay instead. :P Sadly, this song was a flop, only peaking at #29 on CHR.
Date Added: 2012/03/07 | | Like Primadonna Girl, I also saw this on a BillboardGoddess video recommendation. I thought it was very stupid and juvenile, but the song would not leave me head for 2 weeks after hearing it... I managed to get it out, but then it started taking off in the USA and became the biggest viral video of the year, being in every second 9Gag post. Basically, unavoidable. I still think it's kind of stupid, but in a good way. The chorus is easily one of the most infectious of the year, and if it doesn't get stuck in your head, the disco influenced instrumental will. Carly's highest entry, btw.
Date Added: 2012/04/18 | | The song that reintroduced Taylor to pop, Max Martin does it again. I absolutely love how silly it is, it has such a fun atmosphere. This is how you mix pop and country perfectly. Well ok it isn't really country at all, but the (very) slight country influences are great. The talking parts are perfect, I mean that little phone conversation in the bridge? Genius.
Date Added: 2011/08/14 | | Another David Guetta/Sia collab. It's a bit similar to Titanium in terms of structure, but it's unique enough to differenciate itself. I probably said this on the previous two Sia songs, but she sounds magical <3 David Guetta is a great producer, and works his magic yet again. I like how it's different from most dance songs in that it feels like it has more quality. Idk if that makes sense. The video is... interesting.
