Another section already! Glad "Lights" wasn't as high as I predicted! Right on track for "Your Body". I really wish they'd released the explicit version too. And I love the cover <3 And I love "Part Of Me"! 3 places off, not bad.

Starting the top 10 | "I knew you were trouble when you walked IINNNN" It's a shame on her right now for making such an irresistable song. The theme is same old same old but I appreciate that she tried something new with the dubstep chorus, and my oh my it worked out perfectly. It does exactly what she intended for it to do, it makes it hectic and busy, counter to the light strumming verses (the transition could use some work though js). Most of the song is just waiting for the chorus to come back on and then it just hypnotizes me every single time. I really like the beginning scene of the video, "it's like a kaleidoscope of memories, it all comes back... but HE never does" :'(
Date Added: 2012/10/10 | | Still putting out great music 50 years into her career, who else? Granted, this does sound a bit like it could be a Katy Perry song mixed with Martin Solvieg, but I love Hello and Katy Perry so. The addition of Nicki and M.I.A. was pretty reductive, I mean they got 10 seconds each, but I like Nicki's part and being featured got her another top 10 so I'm happy. It's very fun to sing along to, and that hook/prechorus is pop perfection. I had a difficult time ranking this because the Party Rock Remix got a lot of points aswell, and I wasn't sure how much of it should count together with this song, cause it's pretty different but I ended up going with 66%, putting it just under the top 10.
Date Added: 2012/02/03 | | I always thought the single cover for this was funny, cause it looks like they're "enjoying themselves" into eachother. It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "I'm glad you came" :P. The song starts with the chorus quietly under a few piano keys, basically it gives you the mood of waking up and then in come the synths and I feel like I'm on a tropical vacation with my friends, swimming, sightseeing, dancing and just having fun. Then the soft chorus is repeated again at the end, as if you're going to sleep, basically giving you the feeling of a full day of fun. <3 The breakdown is crazy good. I didn't even realize that the first verse is repeated until many listens. I really like though how the first word of every line repeats the last word of the previous line (ex: "Hand you another drink/drink it if you can").

That doesn't make sense. I like "Trouble" and "Luvin'", though they're much too high for my liking. "Glad You Came" is perfect and I'm glad it's in your top 10.

Not something I'd noticed before. Amused, but also kinda wishing I could unsee it. But anyway, I love "I Knew You Were Trouble." and "Glad You Came"! Yay for the appearances of both. Also agree with you about the word repetition in "Glad You Came"

| I've never really liked a Leona Lewis song, but I saw a poll where it was getting all A's, so I decided to check it out. Fast forward 4 months, and Glassheart is officially the first album track ever to make it to the top 10 on one of my Year End Charts! (Multiple others have done it but they had labels smart enough to release them during the year). This song is the perfect blend between pop and dubstep. It starts with a pulsing yet calm dubstep verse, then a beautiful melody and BAM out of nowhere it's followed by an amazing grimy breakdown, capable of making anyone's ears cum. If released I believe this could be a #1 hit worldwide, and finally revive her career. I downloaded the album thinking it would have more songs like this, it didn't..., but it does have a lot of good ballads and another great dubstep influenced song, Come Alive. The youtube link for this is LQ cause I couldn't find a better one.
Date Added: 2012/09/28 | | TELL ME NOW. *woop*. I'm not really a Kylie fan, hell I can barely name 5 songs by her, but I saw a thread about it on Pulse and decided to give it a curiosity spin. I was hooked from the second the attitude-filled beat started. It makes me want to just walk around like a diva :P. The chorus is amazingly catchy too, *woop*, but I hate that the first chorus is such a tease, cutting out the "We're on a timebomb" part. The song is only 2:57, I doubt it would have killed them to include the entire chorus every time. e_e
Date Added: 2012/05/28 | | From the second I heard this I immediately felt that it could be the Rolling In The Deep or 2012. The xylophone and the instrumentation make it so eerie and intruiging, it was so different from everything else. The bad part is that it's kinda quiet and too slow following certain songs, so a lot of its plays (1/3) are from two remixes, the Jeroen Nieuwenhuize and DJ Mike D remix. I love how Kimbra comes in at the end of the song and gives another perspective to the story, and makes you rethink Gotye's verses.

Glassheart and Timebomb are amazing! I found them both the exact same way! Same with Kylie I barely knew anything of hers. Check out her new GH CD. I did, and then followed Janhova's Kylie countdown and now I love her!

Oh also, the only two songs from the poll left are Die Young and Starships, so everyone was right, lol. I'm predictable it seems. Anyone want to guess what the other 4 songs are? josh, I'll listen to it tonight

Oh, some of the songs on the GH are 80s and 90s so they're total cheese-fest songs lmao. They're total growers. But the late 90s and 00s stuff has some JAMS.

"Timebomb" and "Somebody That I Used to Know" are both great. Guess I eventually need to check out "Glassheart" since everyone else seems to love it.

...So let's just pretend that this is on time | Skeeza, pleez, I'm in Ibiza. Nicki rapping to a dance beat is always a win, especially when it's followed up by such a positive chorus. I don't mean the lyrics, which are pretty generic, but it gives me such a happy feeling, like I'm surrounded by unicorns or something. Then *cue the buzzer from Britney's Stronger* ..BZZZZZ POUND THE ALARM and it's a full on rave party. <3 I really like the video, it furthers the song's tropical feeling, and also it gave a whole new "meaning" to the exploding sounds in the bridge :giggle: This was my favourite song from Pink Friday for a while, I think it eclipsed Starships in amount of plays just in its first week (it got like 100 plays), but then Starships had crazy longevity. They're basically tied right now.
Date Added: 2012/04/02 | | For starters, I absolutely love the instrumentation on this. It's eerie, beautiful, sad and upbeat at the same time. I generally don't like Coldplay songs but for this one they decided to go pop, and my oh my, it's a great attempt. It would be good even without Rihanna, though she helped it a lot. I think it's very different, and although it burned out very fast, it had a huge debut. Biggest of the year. It got 40 plays in its first week then 120 the following week! Those 2 weeks alone put it in the top 10 for the year. The lyrics are kind of lame, lalas and oohs for half the song but I like the metaphor in the chorus.
Date Added: 2012/01/08 | | This will be a classic. At first, I thought it was incredibley generic. A typical Max Martin track with some lame breakdown. Then a few weeks passed and it grew on me tremendously. The video also really helped because now I associate the song with a beach/tropical island (the oompla loompa outfit field scene totally reminds me of Jurassic park) which makes it a lot more fun :D Fun fact: I thought the chorus was "we're flying in a mothafucka", not "higher than a motherfucker" :-X I also thought "Onika" was "A Niqqa". The breakdown is crazy, I don't even know how to react to it, I just flop around like the Harlem Shake :P In regards to the verses, wow, Nicki makes the most infectious rhymes. Every line is a hook, basically. <3
