I just listened to "Pound the Alarm" and I prefer it instead of "Starships". Also, as you said, Codex, before Nicki Minaj says Pound the Alarm, it reminds me of Britney Spears's "Stronger" Great to see "Princess of China" in the Top 5.

Love "Starships" and "Pound The Alarm"; glad you ranked "Starships" higher. "Princess Of China" - no thanks.

| Ke$ha waited 2 years to release this highly anticipated song, but it paid off. It's shocking how she has such an amazing ear for hooks. Every line in the song is effing irresistable! "LOOKing FOR some TROuble tonIGHT, tAKE my haND I'll show you the WILD SIDE". <-- Pop gold. I love how it builds up to the breakdown with the "we're gonna die young" and heavy drums. The breakdown itself imo is very unique? This might sound stupid, since I know it sounds a lot like Hangover and Good Feeling. BUT, for me it has a very pleasant, soft, euphoric, melow feel to it which I LOVE and is rare for me in dance songs. Another thing I thing that is perfect about this song is the bridge. Instead of stripping it down and having some cheesy bridge like in 80% of the songs today, it just changes the instrumentation to give it a fresh feel before coming back in with that orgasmic last chorus. The drop and hook at the same time? Save me. Shout out for the acoustic version aswell! It's actually very beautiful, which I didn't think would be possible for this song.

Omg one of them is "Where Have You Flawless Been"? Betta be #1 then! I suppose it's better than "Turn Me On", so I agree. In my mind "Die Young" will be the #1 though.

"Die Young" is a great song, but I think it's better than "Turn Me On". So, this is going to be a battle between David Guetta, Giorgio Tuinfort and Black Raw and Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Calvin Harris in production with vocals by Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, respectively. Interesting. BTW, I agree with João. This should have been the Top 3.

| #2 - David Guetta - Turn Me On (feat. Nicki Minaj) "TOUCH ME. SAVE MY LIIIIIIIIFE COME ON AND TURN ME ON. TURN ME ON. TURN ME ON." Damn. I think this is David Guetta's first year end top 10. He got really close last year with Who's That Chick though, and When Love Takes Over/Sexy Bitch could possibly have been top 10's if I had a list in 2009. Turn Me On sounds a lot like Only Girl (top 5 2010 :D, it follows a similar formula. But what really makes me like it is how it has an overall very dark, mystical feel, mainly from the amazing beat during the verses. I love the "OOOooooooooooOOOoooooooooooOOOooooooooo"'s before the chorus, how haunting and creepy they are. The lyrics are kind of cheesy but they're the good kind of cheesy. What I really like about Nicki in general is how she doesn't need a rent-a-rapper to do bridges, she can do her own. :P She goes absolutely crazy, imo and it fits the song perfectly. "D-D-D-D don't let me die young, I just want you to fart on my young" <3

and now... ;) Ladies and gentlemen! | May I present to you... | | | | | | | | |
| ... Yup. Rihanna gets a second year end #1 in a row, same album, same producer. This actually occupied the #2 spot on my weekly chart behind We Found Love for a couple weeks when the album came out, it got massive album track plays, getting 150 plays in 2011 alone. Then in January once We Found Love ended it's 14 week run at #1, this picked up momentum again and didn't die down until the summer, amassing a colossal amount of plays. It was obvious from then that it would be the #1 song of the year. Die Young has around 245 plays, Turn Me On has 270 (+ 40 in 2011), while Where Have You Been has 500! That's not even including the 150 from 2011. It has literally no burn rate. Even right now while writing this I decided to listen to it again, and before I knew it it had another 10 plays.
I really like songs where I can imagine epic performances, big sets, huge choreography, hundreds of dancers, special effects. This song is the perfect example of that. "Somewhere in the CROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWD" and I just imagine hundreds of dancers jumping in from behind the scenes doing intense choreography with Rihanna standing in the middle, calling them out, as their goddess. The "Where Have You Been all my l-i-i-i-i-i-i-" might be grating at first... but after a while it hypnotizes you and pulls you into the song, and then out of nowhere comes a dark grimy breakdown that shocked me when I first heard it. This. this is how you combine two different songs. Take note The Time (Dirty Bit). Then that second chorus, gives me so much life. It's a build up and a breakdown at the same time, building up to an even bigger breakdown. What kind of epic? It doesn't even stop there. Then in comes that deep buzzing sound in the background during the bridge and I just... can't handle it. Absolutely brilliant song!
