We've covered the '90s decade, so now it's time to rank the best of the best. As I did with the '80s I pulled the top five songs from each year, so we'll be ranking a total of fifty songs. Kicking off our extras is a song that was on the Rush Hour soundtrack. It peaked at #22 on the rap chart, #6 on the R&B chart, and #19 on the Hot 100 in 1998. It was later sampled in Janet Jackson's "Strawberry Bounce".
Can I Get A... - Jay-Z feat. Ja Rule & Amil
Jay-Z's follow-up peaked at #2 rap, #10 R&B, and #15 on the Hot 100 in 1998. It samples "It's The Hard Knock Life" from the musical Annie and received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance.

Yeahh, like everyone said... this list will be insane to figure out! So many amazing, iconic and memorable songs! How are we supposed to rank them? Great first set of extras to start off the extras! I love both "Can I Get A..." and "Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)." I especially love "Can I Get A..."

First extra for today is by this rapper from Queens. Produced by The Neptunes, it topped the rap chart and peaked at #15 on the R&B chart and #36 on the Hot 100 in 1998.

First extra for today was the debut single for this rapper. Released in 1998, it peaked at #5 on the rap chart and #62 on the R&B chart. It originally debuted on The Slim Shady EP, with a re-recorded version appearing on The Slim Shady LP.
Just Don't Give a F*** - Eminem
His debut single peaked at #24 rap and #62 R&B in 1999. It was featured on the soundtrack to the movie In Too Deep and was intended as the lead single from his debut album, but that album ended up being shelved.

Of the extras, I really enjoy "Superthug" by Noreaga
It's fun seeing Eminem and 50 Cent's debut singles as extras here. I know Eminem was around at this time and had some music out before his breakthrough but I didn't know 50 Cent had released some music in the 90s.

"Can I Get A..." and "Hard Knock Life" will always be in my Top 5 of favorite Jay-Z singles. The latter made him a superstar.
