Here is the current list of all country-music related rankdowns that have taken place. I will keep this updated so that we all have a place to see which games are coming up, which are open for submissions, and which are currently presenting results, as well as an archive of all previously completed games.
If anyone wants to join any of the games that are in the "Submitting" column, please feel free!! Basically all you have to do is rank the songs provided, submit your list to the host, and then that person compiles a list out of all the results they receive and hosts a countdown out of them to see which song is Pulse's favorite based on general opinion. Here is a link to a preference revealer that can help you make your lists if you need it! Also, here is a link to some country rankdown statistics I have been keeping track of on a spreadsheet! Feel free to peruse if you'd like! Happy ranking!!! Rule 1) From this point forward, if you wish to place a rankdown on the queue, you need to have plans of actually opening that rankdown within 6 months of the date you claim it. For the purposes of this rule, "opening" the rankdown will be defined as "opening the thread, posting the song list, and allowing people to start submitting". It does not mean that reveals must have begun. That's what the next rule is for. If you do not open the rankdown for submissions within that time frame, that rankdown will go up for grabs and another host can claim it. If you know that you will not be able to host it within 6 months, please wait until you have time to do so before you try to claim it. Some exceptions to that rule would be something like how sabre14 has the remaining years in the early-10s on hold. I feel that he has been making genuine progress towards getting them done, and he also has been doing a good job while hosting them, so he should be allowed to plan to continue with the series. Rule 2) All hosts will now have a maximum window of 3 months between when the rankdown gets opened, and when reveals actually start. (I will be loose with this rule, however. If the host is still very obviously planning to start it, but has to extend it a little longer in order to maximize participation, that is perfectly fine. This rule is mostly to establish a precedent for when we will define a rankdown to be "abandoned" so that another host can take over.) Rule 3) If you are hosting a current rankdown, you have 1 month from the date of the first reveal to finish all of the reveals. That might seem a little harsh, but I think it is very reasonable. If you cannot host a large rankdown in under a month, you should not be hosting a large rankdown. And if you are spending longer than a month on a smaller rankdown, you should not be hosting rankdowns at all... If a host spends longer than a month revealing their current rankdown, ALL of their claimed rankdowns on the queue will go up for grabs. Added Clarity For Rule 3) If there is ever any span of time where a rankdown goes an entire month with no reveals, it will be declared abandoned. At that point the host either needs to prioritize their time and finish it immediately, or the rankdown will be given to somebody else. To break it down further: after a rankdown has been declared "abandoned", a host has one week to start making progress again before the rankdown is given to somebody else. If they resume reveals within that week, the rankdown will be considered active again, and be held to the regular rules. If they fail to resume reveals after one week, the rankdown will be given to somebody else. What to do if the host successfully resumes revealing, but then disappears again: If a rankdown that had previously been declared abandoned goes 2 weeks without a reveal, the rankdown will immediately be declared abandoned for good, without question, and given to somebody else. The original host will no longer have the option of finishing, and tbh it will be strongly recommended that they stop hosting rankdowns for good.... Presenting:- Taylor's Top 50 of 2022 (Host: taylor Winner: TBA. Last Place: "Summer Child" - Conan Gray.) - June 2023 New Releases Rankdown (Host: bboat11 Winner: TBA. Last Place: "Shake Your Boots" - RaeLynn.) - Miranda Lambert Albums: Wildcard (Host: .indulgecountry Due: August 6) - Sara Evans Albums: Copy That (Host: .indulgecountry Due: August 20) Queue:

YESSSSS this is the greatest. Also I LOVE the idea of the CMA Song of the Year noms rankdown. Missed that one someone!

Great thread! And I see quite a few interesting rankdowns in the queue. Can't wait for the Reba's rankdown to start.

bboat11 Could you also put my (planned) Taylor Swift albums rankdown on the queue here as well? On the rankdown thread in the Games forum it's under pop, but since her first three albums ( Red is a bit iffy but it does have its country moments) are country, maybe I thought you could add it here as well. I'm doing a country rankdown, a pop rankdown, and rankdowns that span both, so I'm inching closer to becoming the Taylor Swift of Pulse rankdowns lol but then zaclord 🌈 will hate me so maybe not
Also, I'm not planning to start Brad right after I finish Dierks since I'll be over in the pop world with Miley Cyrus and then planning to do the Taylor Swift albums after that to coincide with TS6, so if anyone is worried about having too many country rankdowns in the coming months, the spot I am currently taking will be open for a while :) So let this be an encouragement to start your rankdown sometime soon in the future!

Yep, I've gotcha! One question though, are you planning to do an album series (like 5 separate small rankdowns for each of her albums), or a full-career rankdown with everything from all her albums thrown in at once?

I was thinking separate rankdowns since it'll be easier for people to participate but then it'll leave out songs like "Safe & Sound" (which is phenomenal, by the way)... Maybe I could organize it by era so for example "Safe & Sound" would be tacked onto the Speak Now era rankdown. But I would also like to see the epicness and the mess the full-career rankdown will bring! It might be redundant since there's already been a Taylor Swift singles rankdown, but there's more members participating in rankdowns so the results might differ. I honestly don't know but I am leaning towards the former a bit.

I honestly don't know but I am leaning towards the former a bit. You'll probably get better participation with individual album rankdowns as well. Most people are WAY more willing to commit to a 10-20 song album rankdown than they are a 100+ song full-career rankdown... Lol! So that would be my suggestion as well :)

Thanks for the advice!

I would struggle so badly at a Taylor rankdown because I can only put one song in last place :/

For the Lee Ann Womack rankdown, I was thinking that not only would I rank the songs like normal, but maybe make it a competition. It would be whoever can most accurately predict the rankdown order, and the way I would figure it would be based on how many spaces apart the actual ranking and your ranking were. The lower the points you have the better you would be doing. Example: If You rank "I Hope You Dance #10, but ended up #5, you get five points added to your score. If your fellow ranker ranked it #8, they only get three points, they did better that round. Let me know if you like the idea, if it doesn't seem popular I won't do it.
Also, as a side note, I was thinking about opening submissions in early October and closing them on October 27th (the day of her album release). Let me know if that seems to soon.

Just to clarify would that mean sending in a first list based on how we like the songs like a normal rankdown to figure out the collective rankings, and then submit a second list of predictions on how the collective rankings will shake out (which will be used for the competition part of the rankdown)?

I was actually going to just use the rankdown you would send in to to determine the most accurate rankdowns. Only one list, your rankdown. That way at the end we will see who's personal list is closest to the actual list. It will be no extra work on your guys' end.

So it'll be kind of similiar to what some people over in the pop rankdowns have been calling a "closeness ranking" or "closeness rating" (or whatever it's called) but with a different method (they use averages instead of totals) and that it will be more prominent in the rankdown reveals instead of treating it as a side thing (which I believe is the case in the pop rankdowns because not all hosts do it; in fact I think the hosts that do it are in the minority)?

^I didn't know what they did over there, but sort of, yes. The fewer the points you would have the closest you were to the actual rankdown.

As much as I hate Taylor as a human, she does have some good songs. She's got a lot of crappy and/or overrated songs though so it will be hard for me to pick a least favorite

not sure if anyone had this idea but would anyone be interested in doing a Country Christmas Rankdown? Would open the rankdown in November and present results in mid-Dec right before Christmas. Is that something people would want to see?
