I'm never going to let this go, but 11 weeks at Number one for Katy, and 6 weeks at #2 for Sara. It would be so great if the stations who are overplaying Roar, would just through a FEW of those spins to Brave (they're the same song anyway). Sara really has earned a #1 already!
And am kind of surprised that James Blunt fell off already. "Bonfire Heart" is actually a decent song and he hasn't really given up since "You're Beautiful" which is kind of shocking. I thought BH would take off.

Not sure if it's been posted but Fancy Reagan featuring Kelly King have redone this for charity. If you were hoping for more money notes from Christina, well your prayers have been answered with Kelly. She even throws in some whistle tones. Orgasmic. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CkDAqm2heE

He's such an incredible talent. I've given up on him breaking in the USA, but that doesn't stop me from getting the imports on all his albums. I love his voice!

There are a ton of labels who would want Adam. He's got a huge international following. I'm sure his first two albums were just the tip of the iceberg.

Well honey, if you were watching from a retirement home that's not really a surprise. snicker. In seriousness though a high school classmate of mine was asking 'who is this Bruno Mars' guy on fb. I was kind of appalled but not really surprised. How unbelievably embarrassing for your friend who obviously lives under a rock. Bruno was sublime.

My favorite are the Frank Lamboy mixes. I just love what he did. Rosabel a definite close second.

I love this song! His best yet. Looking forward to the new CD. I would really like to see him break out as a major artist. I think you're going to get your wish. He came to our office last week and played a bunch of songs from the upcoming album, acoustically, and everything was very catchy and he sounded great.

Thanks! I think everyone should be pleased if it reaches 2m. Oh it will without a doubt. Her US tour doesn't even kick in until the summer and sales should be pretty steady throughout it.

Celine Dion holds the record for most weeks at #2. "Have You Ever Been in Love" was stuck there for 14 weeks. Great info, thanks! Oh and damn you Katy Perry! Give Sara one week. Argh!

Not to get off topic, but it amazes me how much talk there's been in the past couple of days about Frozen getting a Best Picture nom... It feels like a 0.000% chance to me but who knows? Yeah, after the 5% rule change animated films have very little chance to get a BP nomination anymore. Exactly, the film would have to be transcendent for 5% of Oscar voters (remember this is not the general public) to rank it as #1 over the other films from the year.

Looks like the headlines on this will have to change. From Hits: CHART MURMUR: It's now looking like Disney's Frozen soundtrack will have another week at #1 on the HITS Album Sales Chart. Kudos to label chief Ken Bunt and the frozen head of Walt. The chart's still building; keep watching and stay tuned for our wrap-up when it closes tomorrow afternoon. (1/13p) So no Beyonce #1 this week Way to disrespect the late Walt Disney. Walt Disney kind of gave history no other choice than to make these kind of jokes... PS. I loved Frozen, and it should win Best Animated Feature, but I don't think it needs to be up for Best Picture. I think it's funny that a musical was just announced for Frozen when Wicked will still be playing (so similar).

I'm glad to see so many stabs at this song, but surprised by the small success rate (imo). I still favor the Mavrix Remix first and foremost (it's cheesy, but it's "alive"). Mauro Mozart, Paulo's, Nikno's, Ahzee's, Palladium, Alessio Silvestro, Laszlo, Brendan Terry, Dave Joseph, Isak Salazar, Cosmic Dawn among others are all decent.

I really do not get tired of this song, it continues to sound fresh. I also love how effortless Sara makes singing those high E flats, like it's no big deal.

^ Love this thread. Thanks for mentioning that cover of Like the Way I Do. It's crazy that this is Melissa's first official foray into dance. The guys behind Bent Collective absolutely killed the song, I can only PRAY for a wicked Dub as well. Fantastic!!
(This makes up for "Breathe" (from 2004) not getting remixed.)

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/5847890/whitney-wolanin-makes-run-up-ac-chart-with-rudolphThe singer bullets at No. 2 for a second week with her cover of a holiday classic Five questions with Whitney Wolanin, who boasts the No. 2 title on Billboard's Nielsen BDS-based Adult Contemporary chart for a second week with "Run Run Rudolph." Her version of the song, first recorded by Chuck Berry in 1958, is her fourth AC hit since her arrival last year with the No. 23-peaking "Honesty." Prior to her current carol, she reached No. 13 last holiday season with "Frosty the Snowman" and No. 17 in July with ballad "Wrong Guy (I Did It This Time)." Billboard: You're currently sharing space in the AC top five with Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, Johnny Mathis and Jim Brickman. Not bad company to be in, is it? (And for them, as well, with you!) Wolanin: I am so excited. I mean, Kelly Clarkson, I've been a superfan of hers since I was 13. To be next to her is pretty remarkable. Also impressive is that you're charting as an independent artist (with "Rudolph" released on the TopNotch label). With AC traditionally home to established major-label acts, although it opens up to new artists a bit more during the holidays, that's a notable accomplishment. It is like a David vs. Goliath story. It's an uphill battle, but being independent means that I have creative control of my music. I can write and release the songs I want and fully shape my image, because I have final say on everything. It means the world to me. To get a No. 2 hit is a really, really big deal for us. What led you to record this song? What's great is that it's a familiar classic, but there also hasn't been a definitive hit radio version in recent decades, so there's room to truly make it your own. Christmas is my favorite holiday, by leaps and bounds. I love it so much. I wanted to make a Christmas song that was upbeat, one that could start a party without a bunch of egg nog, you know? One that could make people dance, right from the start. We decided on "Run Run Rudolph" two years ago because of how rocked up it is. I love Chuck Berry's version. So, I tried to incorporate that, while making it a little Whitney, a little more modern. Your current success has been a goal for a lot longer than two years, though, right? I decided I wanted this job when I was 11 (laughs). Over the years, I've played at the [London] Olympics and gotten to open for the Beach Boys, who even gave me songwriting tips, which was pretty cool. Their main message was to keep it simple. Keep the music simple, keep the lyrics simple, because that makes it catchy for people. I use that lesson in my songwriting. "Wrong Guy" is about wanting someone that you shouldn't want. It was written from a personal experience (laughs). And, I'm writing more for my first full-length album, which is coming out next year. As you're from Florida's Sanibel Island, is "Rudolph" one of those snow-themed holiday hits that was actually recorded on a sweltering summer day? Ha, yes. We did this one in July and it was very warm outside. We had the air conditioning on and we were dancing around, trying to get into elf spirit!

There was only so much Ralphi could do with this song. It's pretty forgettable. Would like to hear Assia show off that voice next time!

Considering X Factor's lousy rating, Fifth Harmony really did well for them When I saw them open for Cher Lloyd, the audience lost their minds over them. I remember their choreography being very basic, but they sounded good and most importantly, their new material was all pretty good. I have to pick up their EP.

they need to send this out to other formats. it could multi format smash. assuming everyone has forgotten about her anti gay comments during her idol run I wish that moment had never happened, because it does creep into my head every so often. But I love her music so much that I've reconciled those comments as misguided and unfortunate.

There are some rumors at another message board that this song is a cover of a b-side originally recorded by one hit wonder Mikaila (of "So In Love With Two" fame). It totally sounds like the type of song Mariah would have done maybe 20 years ago, but I seriously hope that the song she is doing is brand new. I mentioned the Mikaila song on another board, but I didn't think it would ever be a cover of it. Still, I do like the Mikaila song.

Randomly landed on this when I was flipping through radio stations the other day and I liked it. I liked her on AI but I haven't really paid attention to her post-Idol career because I don't gravitate towards this type of music, but this was a nice enough song. Glad that its doing well for her. If you liked this than you will like the rest of her music because it's very slick, well-crafted spiritual pop and she's been thrice-Grammy nominated. I would at least take a listen to her first album True Beauty which was a stellar debut. She lays down some great vocals and the production is top notch.

She was sublime tonight at Radio City. Friggin hysterical, too. Highlights were definitely "Gravity" and her new arrangement of "Come Round Soon." I've never heard her use her voice in the way she did on the latter. It was pretty insane.. I hope a video surfaces! And obviously drunk. Her banter was hilarious. She was magnificent though, what a voice. Highlights for me were 1000 Times, I Choose You, Cassiopeia (the lights! the cymbals!), and of course when everyone got to their feet during King of Anything and Brave. I had to sell my tickets because I was travelling last minute for work. Did Sara sing "Hold My Heart?" per chance? She did not. :( Thanks for the review! It makes me slightly less upset I missed seeing as that she didn't do Hold My Heart (my fave of hers) but I'm looking forward to checking out the Youtube clips...
